יְהוּדָ֗ה

כְּתוּבָ֛ה

בְּעֵ֥ט

bə·‘êṭ

with a pen

､ בַּרְזֶ֖ל

bar·zel

of iron ､

בְּצִפֹּ֣רֶן

bə·ṣip·pō·ren

with the point

– שָׁמִ֑יר

šā·mîr;

of a diamond –

חֲרוּשָׁה֙

ḥă·rū·šāh

[it is] engraved

עַל־

‘al-

On

ל֣וּחַ

lū·aḥ

､ לִבָּ֔ם

lib·bām,

of their heart ､

וּלְקַרְנ֖וֹת

ū·lə·qar·nō·wṯ

and on the horns

– מִזְבְּחוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯê·ḵem.

of your altars –

כִּזְכֹּ֤ר

kiz·kōr

בְּנֵיהֶם֙

bə·nê·hem

מִזְבְּחוֹתָ֔ם

miz·bə·ḥō·w·ṯām,

וַאֲשֵׁרֵיהֶ֖ם

wa·’ă·šê·rê·hem

and their wooden images

עַל־

‘al-

by

עֵ֣ץ

‘êṣ

רַֽעֲנָ֑ן

ra·‘ă·nān;

עַ֖ל

‘al

on

גְּבָע֥וֹת

gə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ

. הַגְּבֹהֽוֹת׃

hag·gə·ḇō·hō·wṯ.

the high .

הֲרָרִי֙

hă·rā·rî

､ בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה

baś·śā·ḏeh,

in the field ､

חֵילְךָ֥

ḥê·lə·ḵā

כָל־

ḵāl

אוֹצְרוֹתֶ֖יךָ

’ō·wṣ·rō·w·ṯe·ḵā

､ לָבַ֣ז

lā·ḇaz

as plunder ､

אֶתֵּ֑ן

’et·tên;

I will give

בָּמֹתֶ֕יךָ

bā·mō·ṯe·ḵā

[And] your high places

､ בְּחַטָּ֖את

bə·ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ

of sin ､

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

. גְּבוּלֶֽיךָ׃

gə·ḇū·le·ḵā.

וְשָׁמַטְתָּ֗ה

wə·šā·maṭ·tāh,

And you shall let go

וּבְךָ֙

ū·ḇə·ḵā

and even yourself

מִנַּחֲלָֽתְךָ֙

min·na·ḥă·lā·ṯə·ḵā

of your heritage

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

נָתַ֣תִּי

nā·ṯat·tî

לָ֔ךְ

lāḵ,

וְהַעֲבַדְתִּ֙יךָ֙

wə·ha·‘ă·ḇaḏ·tî·ḵā

and I will cause you to serve

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֹ֣יְבֶ֔יךָ

’ō·yə·ḇe·ḵā,

בָּאָ֖רֶץ

bā·’ā·reṣ

in the land

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

– לֹֽא־

lō-

not –

יָדָ֑עְתָּ

yā·ḏā·‘ə·tā;

כִּֽי־

kî-

אֵ֛שׁ

’êš

קְדַחְתֶּ֥ם

qə·ḏaḥ·tem

you have kindled

､ בְּאַפִּ֖י

bə·’ap·pî

in My anger ､

עַד־

‘aḏ-

עוֹלָ֥ם

‘ō·w·lām

. תּוּקָֽד׃

tū·qāḏ.

[which] shall burn .

the man

yiḇ·ṭaḥ

､ בָּֽאָדָ֔ם

bā·’ā·ḏām,

in man ､

וְשָׂ֥ם

wə·śām

בָּשָׂ֖ר

bā·śār

､ זְרֹע֑וֹ

zə·rō·‘ōw;

his strength ､

וּמִן־

ū·min-

and from

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

יָס֥וּר

yā·sūr

. לִבּֽוֹ׃

lib·bōw.

וְהָיָה֙

wə·hā·yāh

For he shall be

כְּעַרְעָ֣ר

kə·‘ar·‘ār

､ בָּֽעֲרָבָ֔ה

bā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh,

in the desert ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

יִרְאֶ֖ה

yir·’eh

כִּי־

kî-

– יָב֣וֹא

yā·ḇō·w

ט֑וֹב

ṭō·wḇ;

וְשָׁכַ֤ן

wə·šā·ḵan

but shall inhabit

חֲרֵרִים֙

ḥă·rê·rîm

the parched places

､ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר

bam·miḏ·bār,

in the wilderness ､

אֶ֥רֶץ

’e·reṣ

[In] a land

מְלֵחָ֖ה

mə·lê·ḥāh

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

. תֵשֵֽׁב׃

ṯê·šêḇ.

[which is] inhabited .

הַגֶּ֔בֶר

hag·ge·ḇer,

the man

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

יִבְטַ֖ח

yiḇ·ṭaḥ

､ בַּֽיהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

in Yahweh ､

וְהָיָ֥ה

wə·hā·yāh

and is

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

. מִבְטַחֽוֹ׃

miḇ·ṭa·ḥōw.

וְהָיָ֞ה

wə·hā·yāh

For he shall be

כְּעֵ֣ץ ׀

kə·‘êṣ

שָׁת֣וּל

šā·ṯūl

עַל־

‘al-

by

､ מַ֗יִם

ma·yim,

the waters ､

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and by

､ יוּבַל֙

yū·ḇal

the river ､

יְשַׁלַּ֣ח

yə·šal·laḥ

which spreads out

שָֽׁרָשָׁ֔יו

šā·rā·šāw,

וְלֹ֤א

wə·lō

and not

[ירא]

yi·rā

-

(יִרְאֶה֙)

yir·’eh

will fear

כִּֽי־

kî-

､ יָבֹ֣א

yā·ḇō

חֹ֔ם

ḥōm,

וְהָיָ֥ה

wə·hā·yāh

but will be

עָלֵ֖הוּ

‘ā·lê·hū

– רַֽעֲנָ֑ן

ra·‘ă·nān;

וּבִשְׁנַ֤ת

ū·ḇiš·naṯ

and in the year

､ בַּצֹּ֙רֶת֙

baṣ·ṣō·reṯ

of drought ､

לֹ֣א

not

יִדְאָ֔ג

yiḏ·’āḡ,

will be anxious

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

יָמִ֖ישׁ

yā·mîš

will cease

מֵעֲשׂ֥וֹת

mê·‘ă·śō·wṯ

עָקֹ֥ב

‘ā·qōḇ

הַלֵּ֛ב

hal·lêḇ

מִכֹּ֖ל

mik·kōl

above all [things]

– וְאָנֻ֣שׁ

and desperately wicked –

. יֵדָעֶֽנּוּ׃

יְהוָ֛ה

חֹקֵ֥ר

the heart ､

בֹּחֵ֣ן

[I] test

､ כְּלָי֑וֹת

kə·lā·yō·wṯ;

the mind ､

וְלָתֵ֤ת

wə·lā·ṯêṯ

and Even to give

לְאִישׁ֙

lə·’îš

[כדרכו]

kə·ḏar·kōw

､ (כִּדְרָכָ֔יו)

kiḏ·rā·ḵāw,

according to his ways ､

כִּפְרִ֖י

kip̄·rî

According to the fruit

. מַעֲלָלָֽיו׃

ma·‘ă·lā·lāw.

of his doings .

קֹרֵ֤א

[As] a partridge

דָגַר֙

ḏā·ḡar

– וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

but not –

יָלָ֔ד

yā·lāḏ,

עֹ֥שֶׂה

‘ō·śeh

[So is] he who gets

､ עֹ֖שֶׁר

‘ō·šer

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

but not

､ בְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט

ḇə·miš·pāṭ;

by right ､

בַּחֲצִ֤י

ba·ḥă·ṣî

in the midst

[ימו]

yō·mōw

of

､ (יָמָיו֙)

yā·māw

יַעַזְבֶ֔נּוּ

ya·‘az·ḇen·nū,

it will leave him

וּבְאַחֲרִית֖וֹ

ū·ḇə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯōw

and at his end

יִהְיֶ֥ה

yih·yeh

he will be

. נָבָֽל׃

nā·ḇāl.

a fool .

Jeremiah's Prayer for Deliverance

כִּסֵּ֣א

מֵֽרִאשׁ֑וֹן

from the beginning

מְק֖וֹם

[Is] the place

. מִקְדָּשֵֽׁנוּ׃

of our sanctuary .

The hope

､ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

of Israel ､

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

כָּל־

עֹזְבֶ֖יךָ

who forsake You

､ יֵבֹ֑שׁוּ

shall be ashamed ､

Those who depart from Me

､ בָּאָ֣רֶץ

in the earth ､

יִכָּתֵ֔בוּ

shall be written

they have forsaken

מְק֥וֹר

. מַֽיִם־

חַיִּ֖ים

and I shall be healed –

､ וְאִוָּשֵׁ֑עָה

and I shall be saved ､

have hurried away

from [being] a shepherd

[who] follows You

and the day –

אָנ֛וּשׁ

[out] of my lips

רֹכְבִ֣ים ׀

and on horses ､

､ הֵ֚מָּה

they ､

and their princes ､

אִ֥ישׁ

[accompanied] by the men

､ יְהוּדָ֖ה

yə·hū·ḏāh

of Judah ､

וְיֹשְׁבֵ֣י

wə·yō·šə·ḇê

and the inhabitants

､ יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

yə·rū·šā·lim;

of Jerusalem ､

וְיָשְׁבָ֥ה

wə·yā·šə·ḇāh

and shall remain

הָֽעִיר־

hā·‘îr-

הַזֹּ֖את

haz·zōṯ

. לְעוֹלָֽם׃

lə·‘ō·w·lām.

וּבָ֣אוּ

And they shall come

מֵעָרֵֽי־

mê·‘ā·rê-

from the cities

､ יְ֠הוּדָה

yə·hū·ḏāh

of Judah ､

וּמִסְּבִיב֨וֹת

ū·mis·sə·ḇî·ḇō·wṯ

and from the places around

､ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם

yə·rū·šā·lim

וּמֵאֶ֣רֶץ

ū·mê·’e·reṣ

and from the land

､ בִּנְיָמִ֗ן

bin·yā·min,

of Benjamin ､

וּמִן־

ū·min-

and from

､ הַשְּׁפֵלָ֤ה

haš·šə·p̄ê·lāh

the lowland ､

וּמִן־

ū·min-

and from

､ הָהָר֙

hā·hār

the mountains ､

וּמִן־

ū·min-

and from

､ הַנֶּ֔גֶב

han·ne·ḡeḇ,

the Negev ､

מְבִאִ֛ים

mə·ḇi·’îm

､ עוֹלָ֥ה

‘ō·w·lāh

burnt offerings ､

､ וְזֶ֖בַח

wə·ze·ḇaḥ

and sacrifices ､

､ וּמִנְחָ֣ה

ū·min·ḥāh

and grain offerings ､

､ וּלְבוֹנָ֑ה

ū·lə·ḇō·w·nāh;

and incense ､

וּמְבִאֵ֥י

ū·mə·ḇi·’ê

､ תוֹדָ֖ה

ṯō·w·ḏāh

[sacrifices] of praise ､

בֵּ֥ית

bêṯ

to the house

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

וְאִם־

But if

Me

הַשַּׁבָּ֔ת

haš·šab·bāṯ,

וּלְבִלְתִּ֣י ׀

ū·lə·ḇil·tî

and such as not

שְׂאֵ֣ת

śə·’êṯ

､ מַשָּׂ֗א

maś·śā,

a burden ､

וּבֹ֛א

ū·ḇō

and when entering

בְּשַׁעֲרֵ֥י

bə·ša·‘ă·rê

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

yə·rū·šā·lim

– בְּי֣וֹם

bə·yō·wm

on day –

הַשַּׁבָּ֑ת

haš·šab·bāṯ;

וְהִצַּ֧תִּי

wə·hiṣ·ṣat·tî

then I will kindle

אֵ֣שׁ

’êš

בִּשְׁעָרֶ֗יהָ

biš·‘ā·re·hā,

וְאָֽכְלָ֛ה

wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh

and it shall devour

אַרְמְנ֥וֹת

’ar·mə·nō·wṯ

､ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

yə·rū·šā·lim

of Jerusalem ､

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

and not

. תִכְבֶּֽה׃

ṯiḵ·beh.

it shall be quenched .
