הָל֛וֹךְ

וְקָנִ֥יתָ

and get

､ בַקְבֻּ֖ק

ḇaq·buq

a flask ､

יוֹצֵ֣ר

yō·w·ṣêr

חָ֑רֶשׂ

ḥā·reś;

וּמִזִּקְנֵ֣י

ū·miz·ziq·nê

and [take] some of the elders

､ הָעָ֔ם

hā·‘ām,

of the people ､

וּמִזִּקְנֵ֖י

ū·miz·ziq·nê

and some elders of the

– הַכֹּהֲנִֽים׃

hak·kō·hă·nîm.

of the priests –

וְיָצָ֙אתָ֙

wə·yā·ṣā·ṯā

and go out

אֶל־

’el-

to

גֵּ֣יא

gê

the Valley of the Son of Hinnom

בֶן־

ḇen-

､ הִנֹּ֔ם

hin·nōm,

of Hinnom ､

אֲשֶׁ֕ר

which [is]

פֶּ֖תַח

by the entry

､ שַׁ֣עַר

of Gate ､

[החרסות]

וְקָרָ֣אתָ

הַדְּבָרִ֖ים

אֲשֶׁר־

אֲדַבֵּ֥ר

I will tell

. אֵלֶֽיךָ׃

’ê·le·ḵā.

､ וְאָֽמַרְתָּ֙

wə·’ā·mar·tā

And say ､

שִׁמְע֣וּ

šim·‘ū

דְבַר־

ḏə·ḇar-

the word

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

of Yahweh ､

מַלְכֵ֣י

mal·ḵê

､ יְהוּדָ֔ה

yə·hū·ḏāh,

of Judah ､

וְיֹשְׁבֵ֖י

wə·yō·šə·ḇê

and inhabitants

– יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

yə·rū·šā·lim;

of Jerusalem –

כֹּֽה־

kōh-

אָמַר֩

’ā·mar

יְהוָ֨ה

Yah·weh

､ צְבָא֜וֹת

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ

of hosts ､

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God

– יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

of Israel –

הִנְנִ֨י

hin·nî

מֵבִ֤יא

mê·ḇî

I will bring

רָעָה֙

rā·‘āh

such a catastrophe

עַל־

‘al-

on

､ הַמָּק֣וֹם

ham·mā·qō·wm

הַזֶּ֔ה

haz·zeh,

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

כָּל־

kāl-

､ שֹׁמְעָ֖הּ

šō·mə·‘āh

hears of it ､

תִּצַּ֥לְנָה

tiṣ·ṣal·nāh

. אָזְנָֽיו׃

’ā·zə·nāw.

יַ֣עַן ׀

ya·‘an

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

עֲזָבֻ֗נִי

‘ă·zā·ḇu·nî,

they have forsaken Me

וַֽיְנַכְּר֞וּ

way·nak·kə·rū

and made a sojourner

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ הַמָּק֤וֹם

ham·mā·qō·wm

הַזֶּה֙

haz·zeh

וַיְקַטְּרוּ־

way·qaṭ·ṭə·rū-

and because they have burned incense

בוֹ֙

ḇōw

in it

､ לֵאלֹהִ֣ים

lê·lō·hîm

to gods ､

אֲחֵרִ֔ים

’ă·ḥê·rîm,

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

’ă·šer

לֹֽא־

lō-

､ יְדָע֛וּם

yə·ḏā·‘ūm

הֵ֥מָּה

hêm·māh

וַאֲבֽוֹתֵיהֶ֖ם

wa·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·hem

and their fathers

וּמַלְכֵ֣י

ū·mal·ḵê

､ יְהוּדָ֑ה

yə·hū·ḏāh;

of Judah ､

וּמָֽלְא֛וּ

ū·mā·lə·’ū

and have filled

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הַמָּק֥וֹם

ham·mā·qō·wm

הַזֶּ֖ה

haz·zeh

דַּ֥ם

dam

with the blood

– נְקִיִּֽם׃

nə·qî·yim.

of the innocents –

וּבָנ֞וּ

ū·ḇā·nū

and they have built

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בָּמ֣וֹת

bā·mō·wṯ

the high places

､ הַבַּ֗עַל

hab·ba·‘al,

of Baal ､

לִשְׂרֹ֧ף

liś·rōp̄

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בְּנֵיהֶ֛ם

bə·nê·hem

בָּאֵ֖שׁ

bā·’êš

with fire

עֹל֣וֹת

‘ō·lō·wṯ

[for] burnt offerings

､ לַבָּ֑עַל

lab·bā·‘al;

to Baal ､

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

’ă·šer

､ לֹֽא־

lō-

not ､

צִוִּ֙יתִי֙

ṣiw·wî·ṯî

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

or

דִבַּ֔רְתִּי

ḏib·bar·tî,

וְלֹ֥א

wə·lō

עָלְתָ֖ה

‘ā·lə·ṯāh

עַל־

‘al-

– לִבִּֽי׃

､ הַתֹּ֖פֶת

וְגֵ֣יא

wə·ḡê

or the Valley of the Son of Hinnom

בֶן־

ḇen-

､ הִנֹּ֑ם

hin·nōm;

of Hinnom ､

כִּ֖י

kî

אִם־

’im-

but

גֵּ֥יא

gê

. הַהֲרֵגָֽה׃

ha·hă·rê·ḡāh.

of the Slaughter .

וּ֠בַקֹּתִי

ū·ḇaq·qō·ṯî

And I will make void

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

עֲצַ֨ת

‘ă·ṣaṯ

יְהוּדָ֤ה

yə·hū·ḏāh

וִירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙

wî·rū·šā·lim

– בַּמָּק֣וֹם

bam·mā·qō·wm

in place –

הַזֶּ֔ה

haz·zeh,

וְהִפַּלְתִּ֤ים

wə·hip·pal·tîm

and I will cause them to fall

בַּחֶ֙רֶב֙

ba·ḥe·reḇ

by the sword

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

､ אֹֽיְבֵיהֶ֔ם

’ō·yə·ḇê·hem,

their enemies ､

וּבְיַ֖ד

ū·ḇə·yaḏ

and by the hands

מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י

mə·ḇaq·šê

of those who seek

– נַפְשָׁ֑ם

nap̄·šām;

their lives –

וְנָתַתִּ֤י

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

and I will give

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

נִבְלָתָם֙

niḇ·lā·ṯām

לְמַֽאֲכָ֔ל

lə·ma·’ă·ḵāl,

לְע֥וֹף

lə·‘ō·wp̄

､ הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

haš·šā·ma·yim

of the heaven ､

וּלְבֶהֱמַ֥ת

ū·lə·ḇe·hĕ·maṯ

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

of the earth .

וְשַׂמְתִּי֙

wə·śam·tî

And I will make

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָעִ֣יר

hā·‘îr

הַזֹּ֔את

haz·zōṯ,

､ לְשַׁמָּ֖ה

lə·šam·māh

– וְלִשְׁרֵקָ֑ה

wə·liš·rê·qāh;

and a hissing –

כֹּ֚ל

kōl

עֹבֵ֣ר

‘ō·ḇêr

עָלֶ֔יהָ

‘ā·le·hā,

by it

יִשֹּׁ֥ם

yiš·šōm

will be astonished

וְיִשְׁרֹ֖ק

wə·yiš·rōq

and hiss

עַל־

‘al-

כָּל־

kāl-

of all

. מַכֹּתֶֽהָ׃

mak·kō·ṯe·hā.

וְהַֽאֲכַלְתִּ֞ים

wə·ha·’ă·ḵal·tîm

And I will cause them to eat

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

בְּשַׂ֣ר

bə·śar

בְּנֵיהֶ֗ם

bə·nê·hem,

וְאֵת֙

wə·’êṯ

and

בְּשַׂ֣ר

bə·śar

､ בְּנֹתֵיהֶ֔ם

bə·nō·ṯê·hem,

of their daughters ､

וְאִ֥ישׁ

wə·’îš

בְּשַׂר־

bə·śar-

רֵעֵ֖הוּ

rê·‘ê·hū

יֹאכֵ֑לוּ

yō·ḵê·lū;

בְּמָצוֹר֙

bə·mā·ṣō·wr

in the siege

､ וּבְמָצ֔וֹק

ū·ḇə·mā·ṣō·wq,

and in the desperation ､

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

’ă·šer

with which

יָצִ֧יקוּ

yā·ṣî·qū

shall drive to despair

לָהֶ֛ם

lā·hem

､ אֹיְבֵיהֶ֖ם

’ō·yə·ḇê·hem

their enemies ､

וּמְבַקְשֵׁ֥י

ū·mə·ḇaq·šê

and those who seek

､ נַפְשָֽׁם׃

nap̄·šām.

their lives ､

וְשָׁבַרְתָּ֖

wə·šā·ḇar·tā

and you shall break

הַבַּקְבֻּ֑ק

hab·baq·buq;

לְעֵינֵי֙

lə·‘ê·nê

in the sight

הָֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים

hā·’ă·nā·šîm,

of the men

הַהֹלְכִ֖ים

ha·hō·lə·ḵîm

who go

. אוֹתָֽךְ׃

’ō·w·ṯāḵ.

with you .

וְאָמַרְתָּ֨

wə·’ā·mar·tā

And say

אֲלֵיהֶ֜ם

’ă·lê·hem

כֹּה־

kōh-

אָמַ֣ר ׀

’ā·mar

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

– צְבָא֗וֹת

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

of hosts –

כָּ֣כָה

kā·ḵāh

אֶשְׁבֹּ֞ר

’eš·bōr

I will break

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָעָ֤ם

hā·‘ām

הַזֶּה֙

haz·zeh

וְאֶת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

､ הָעִ֣יר

hā·‘îr

city ､

הַזֹּ֔את

haz·zōṯ,

כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר

ka·’ă·šer

as

יִשְׁבֹּר֙

yiš·bōr

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

､ כְּלִ֣י

kə·lî

a vessel ､

הַיּוֹצֵ֔ר

hay·yō·w·ṣêr,

אֲשֶׁ֛ר

’ă·šer

לֹֽא־

lō-

יוּכַ֥ל

yū·ḵal

-

לְהֵרָפֵ֖ה

lə·hê·rā·p̄êh

– ע֑וֹד

‘ō·wḏ;

､ וּבְתֹ֣פֶת

ū·ḇə·ṯō·p̄eṯ

and in Tophet ､

יִקְבְּר֔וּ

yiq·bə·rū,

they shall bury [them]

מֵאֵ֥ין

mê·’ên

till [there is] no

מָק֖וֹם

mā·qō·wm

. לִקְבּֽוֹר׃

liq·bō·wr.

to bury .

כֵּֽן־

kên-

אֶעֱשֶׂ֞ה

’e·‘ĕ·śeh

I will do

､ לַמָּק֥וֹם

lam·mā·qō·wm

to place ､

הַזֶּ֛ה

haz·zeh

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

､ יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

וּלְיֽוֹשְׁבָ֑יו

ū·lə·yō·wō·šə·ḇāw;

and to its inhabitants

וְלָתֵ֛ת

wə·lā·ṯêṯ

and make

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

הָעִ֥יר

hā·‘îr

הַזֹּ֖את

haz·zōṯ

. כְּתֹֽפֶת׃

kə·ṯō·p̄eṯ.

וְהָי֞וּ

wə·hā·yū

And shall be

בָּתֵּ֣י

bāt·tê

､ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם

yə·rū·šā·lim,

of Jerusalem ､

וּבָתֵּי֙

ū·ḇāt·tê

and the houses

מַלְכֵ֣י

mal·ḵê

of the kings

､ יְהוּדָ֔ה

yə·hū·ḏāh,

of Judah ､

כִּמְק֥וֹם

kim·qō·wm

､ הַתֹּ֖פֶת

hat·tō·p̄eṯ

of Tophet ､

הַטְּמֵאִ֑ים

haṭ·ṭə·mê·’îm;

לְכֹ֣ל

lə·ḵōl

הַבָּתִּ֗ים

hab·bāt·tîm,

אֲשֶׁ֨ר

’ă·šer

קִטְּר֜וּ

qiṭ·ṭə·rū

they have burned incense

עַל־

‘al-

on

גַּגֹּֽתֵיהֶם֙

gag·gō·ṯê·hem

לְכֹל֙

lə·ḵōl

to all

צְבָ֣א

ṣə·ḇā

the host

､ הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

haš·šā·ma·yim,

of heaven ､

וְהַסֵּ֥ךְ

wə·has·sêḵ

נְסָכִ֖ים

nə·sā·ḵîm

drink offerings

לֵאלֹהִ֥ים

lê·lō·hîm

. אֲחֵרִֽים׃

’ă·ḥê·rîm.

שְׁלָח֧וֹ

יְהוָ֛ה

Yah·weh

– לְהִנָּבֵ֑א

lə·hin·nā·ḇê;

to prophesy –

וַֽיַּעֲמֹד֙

way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ

and he stood

בַּחֲצַ֣ר

ba·ḥă·ṣar

in the court

– בֵּית־

bêṯ-

of the house –

יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

וַיֹּ֖אמֶר

way·yō·mer

and said

אֶל־

’el-

to

כָּל־

kāl-

､ הָעָֽם׃

hā·‘ām.

the people ､

the doom

I have pronounced

עָלֶ֑יהָ

they have stiffened

their necks ､
