הָֽרְבִיעִ֔ית

hā·rə·ḇî·‘îṯ,

לִיהוֹיָקִ֥ים

lî·hō·w·yā·qîm

בֶּן־

the son

יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ

מֶ֥לֶךְ

me·leḵ

. יְהוּדָֽה׃

yə·hū·ḏāh.

of Judah .

עִרְכ֤וּ

‘ir·ḵū

מָגֵן֙

mā·ḡên

､ וְצִנָּ֔ה

wə·ṣin·nāh,

and shield ､

וּגְשׁ֖וּ

ū·ḡə·šū

. לַמִּלְחָמָֽה׃

lam·mil·ḥā·māh.

אִסְר֣וּ

’is·rū

– הַסּוּסִ֗ים

has·sū·sîm,

the horses –

､ וַֽעֲלוּ֙

wa·‘ă·lū

and mount up ､

､ הַפָּ֣רָשִׁ֔ים

hap·pā·rā·šîm,

you horsemen ､

וְהִֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ

wə·hiṯ·yaṣ·ṣə·ḇū

and Stand forth

– בְּכ֥וֹבָעִ֑ים

bə·ḵō·w·ḇā·‘îm;

with [your] helmets –

מִרְקוּ֙

mir·qū

､ הָֽרְמָחִ֔ים

hā·rə·mā·ḥîm,

the spears ､

לִבְשׁ֖וּ

liḇ·šū

Put on

. הַסִּרְיֹנֹֽת׃

has·sir·yō·nōṯ.

the armor .

מַדּ֣וּעַ

mad·dū·a‘

רָאִ֗יתִי

rā·’î·ṯî,

הֵ֣מָּה

hêm·māh

חַתִּים֮

ḥat·tîm

נְסֹגִ֣ים

nə·sō·ḡîm

[and] turned

؟ אָחוֹר֒

’ā·ḥō·wr

וְגִבּוֹרֵיהֶ֣ם

wə·ḡib·bō·w·rê·hem

and their mighty ones

､ יֻכַּ֔תּוּ

yuk·kat·tū,

are beaten down ､

וּמָנ֥וֹס

ū·mā·nō·ws

､ נָ֖סוּ

nā·sū

they have fled ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

and not

– הִפְנ֑וּ

hip̄·nū;

did look back –

מָג֥וֹר

mā·ḡō·wr

[For] fear [was]

､ מִסָּבִ֖יב

mis·sā·ḇîḇ

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

אַל־

’al-

Not

､ יָנ֣וּס

do let flee away ､

הַקַּ֔ל

haq·qal,

וְאַל־

wə·’al-

– יִמָּלֵ֖ט

yim·mā·lêṭ

הַגִּבּ֑וֹר

hag·gib·bō·wr;

צָפ֙וֹנָה֙

ṣā·p̄ō·w·nāh

Toward the north

עַל־

‘al-

by

יַ֣ד

yaḏ

-

נְהַר־

nə·har-

. פְּרָ֔ת

pə·rāṯ,

､ כָּשְׁל֖וּ

kā·šə·lū

They will stumble ､

. וְנָפָֽלוּ׃

wə·nā·p̄ā·lū.

and fall .

מִי־

mî-

Who [is]

זֶ֖ה

zeh

､ כַּיְאֹ֣ר

kay·’ōr

like the Nile ､

יַֽעֲלֶ֑ה

ya·‘ă·leh;

؟ כַּנְּהָר֕וֹת

kan·nə·hā·rō·wṯ

like the rivers ؟

יִֽתְגָּעֲשׁ֖וּ

yiṯ·gā·‘ă·šū

. מֵימָֽיו׃

mê·māw.

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙

miṣ·ra·yim

､ כַּיְאֹ֣ר

kay·’ōr

like the Nile ､

יַֽעֲלֶ֔ה

ya·‘ă·leh,

– וְכַנְּהָר֖וֹת

wə·ḵan·nə·hā·rō·wṯ

and like the rivers –

יִתְגֹּ֣עֲשׁוּ

yiṯ·gō·‘ă·šū

מָ֑יִם

mā·yim;

､ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר

way·yō·mer,

and he says ､

､ אַֽעֲלֶה֙

’a·‘ă·leh

I will go up ､

אֲכַסֶּה־

’ă·ḵas·seh-

[and] cover

– אֶ֔רֶץ

’e·reṣ,

the earth –

אֹבִ֥ידָה

’ō·ḇî·ḏāh

I will destroy

עִ֖יר

‘îr

the city

וְיֹ֥שְׁבֵי

wə·yō·šə·ḇê

and inhabitants

. בָֽהּ׃

ḇāh.

､ עֲל֤וּ

‘ă·lū

Come up ､

– הַסּוּסִים֙

has·sū·sîm

､ וְהִתְהֹלְל֣וּ

wə·hiṯ·hō·lə·lū

and rage ､

– הָרֶ֔כֶב

hā·re·ḵeḇ,

– וְיֵצְא֖וּ

wə·yê·ṣə·’ū

and let come forth –

הַגִּבּוֹרִ֑ים

hag·gib·bō·w·rîm;

כּ֤וּשׁ

kūš

､ וּפוּט֙

ū·p̄ūṭ

and Libya ､

תֹּפְשֵׂ֣י

tō·p̄ə·śê

– מָגֵ֔ן

mā·ḡên,

the shield –

､ וְלוּדִ֕ים

wə·lū·ḏîm

and the Lydians ､

תֹּפְשֵׂ֖י

tō·p̄ə·śê

דֹּ֥רְכֵי

dō·rə·ḵê

[and] bend

. קָֽשֶׁת׃

qā·šeṯ.

the bow .

וְֽהַיּ֨וֹם

wə·hay·yō·wm

הַה֜וּא

ha·hū

that [is]

לַאדֹנָ֧י

la·ḏō·nāy

of the Lord

יְהוִ֣ה

Yah·weh

､ צְבָא֗וֹת

ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ,

of hosts ､

י֤וֹם

yō·wm

､ נְקָמָה֙

nə·qā·māh

of vengeance ､

לְהִנָּקֵ֣ם

lə·hin·nā·qêm

that He may avenge Himself

– מִצָּרָ֔יו

miṣ·ṣā·rāw,

on His adversaries –

､ וְאָכְלָ֥ה

wə·’ā·ḵə·lāh

and shall devour ､

חֶ֙רֶב֙

ḥe·reḇ

וְשָׂ֣בְעָ֔ה

wə·śā·ḇə·‘āh,

and it shall be satiated

וְרָוְתָ֖ה

wə·rā·wə·ṯāh

– מִדָּמָ֑ם

mid·dā·mām;

with their blood –

כִּ֣י

זֶ֠בַח

ze·ḇaḥ

לַאדֹנָ֨י

la·ḏō·nāy

יְהוִ֧ה

צְבָא֛וֹת

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

in the country

צָפ֖וֹן

Go up

､ גִלְעָד֙

to Gilead ､

וּקְחִ֣י

and take

､ צֳרִ֔י

ṣo·rî,

balm ､

､ בְּתוּלַ֖ת

bə·ṯū·laṯ

בַּת־

baṯ-

! מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

of Egypt !

לַשָּׁוְא֙

laš·šāw

[הרביתי]

כָּשָׁ֔לוּ

וְהַשְׁמִ֣יעוּ

､ בְמִגְדּ֔וֹל

in Migdol ､

וְהַשְׁמִ֥יעוּ

wə·haš·mî·‘ū

בְנֹ֖ף

– וּבְתַחְפַּנְחֵ֑ס

ū·ḇə·ṯaḥ·pan·ḥês;

and in Tahpanhes –

אִמְר֗וּ

､ הִתְיַצֵּב֙

hiṯ·yaṣ·ṣêḇ

וְהָכֵ֣ן

לָ֔ךְ

אָכְלָ֥ה

. סְבִיבֶֽיךָ׃

all around you .

מַדּ֖וּעַ

are swept away ؟

אַבִּירֶ֑יךָ

’ab·bî·re·ḵā;

your mighty [men]

､ לֹ֣א

not ､

עָמַ֔ד

כִּ֥י

יְהוָ֖ה

. הֲדָפֽוֹ׃

drove them away .

הִרְבָּ֖ה

the land

､ מֽוֹלַדְתֵּ֔נוּ

of our nativity ､

מִפְּנֵ֖י

mip·pə·nê

חֶ֥רֶב

ḥe·reḇ

. הַיּוֹנָֽה׃

hay·yō·w·nāh.

the oppressing .

קָרְא֖וּ

qā·rə·’ū

､ שָׁ֑ם

šām;

פַּרְעֹ֤ה

par·‘ōh

מֶֽלֶךְ־

me·leḵ-

מִצְרַ֙יִם֙

miṣ·ra·yim

– שָׁא֔וֹן

[is but] a noise –

הֶעֱבִ֖יר

He has passed by

the time appointed .

the King ､

Whose name [is]

as Tabor [is]

､ בֶּֽהָרִ֔ים

be·hā·rîm,

among the mountains ､

וּכְכַרְמֶ֖ל

and as Carmel

by the sea ､

[so] he shall come .

to go into captivity ､

are turned back ､

they have fled away

like a serpent –

יֵלֵ֑ךְ

כִּֽי־

､ בְחַ֣יִל

ḇə·ḥa·yil

with an army ､

יֵלֵ֔כוּ

yê·lê·ḵū,

they shall march

､ וּבְקַרְדֻּמּוֹת֙

ū·ḇə·qar·dum·mō·wṯ

and with axes ､

בָּ֣אוּ

bā·’ū

לָ֔הּ

lāh,

כְּחֹטְבֵ֖י

kə·ḥō·ṭə·ḇê

Like those who chop

. עֵצִֽים׃

‘ê·ṣîm.

כָּרְת֤וּ

kā·rə·ṯū

They shall cut down

､ יַעְרָהּ֙

ya‘·rāh

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

､ יְהוָ֔ה

Yah·weh,

כִּ֖י

kî

לֹ֣א

lō

– יֵֽחָקֵ֑ר

yê·ḥā·qêr;

it be searched –

כִּ֤י

kî

רַבּוּ֙

rab·bū

they [are] more numerous

､ מֵֽאַרְבֶּ֔ה

mê·’ar·beh,

than grasshoppers ､

וְאֵ֥ין

wə·’ên

and

לָהֶ֖ם

lā·hem

. מִסְפָּֽר׃

mis·pār.

– הֹבִ֖ישָׁה

hō·ḇî·šāh

Shall be ashamed –

בַּת־

baṯ-

מִצְרָ֑יִם

miṣ·rā·yim;

נִתְּנָ֖ה

nit·tə·nāh

she shall be delivered

בְּיַ֥ד

bə·yaḏ

into the hand of

עַם־

‘am-

. צָפֽוֹן׃

ṣā·p̄ō·wn.

of the north .

– אָמַר֩

’ā·mar

Says –

יְהוָ֨ה

､ צְבָא֜וֹת

of hosts ､

אֱלֹהֵ֣י

’ĕ·lō·hê

the God

､ יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

of Israel ､

הִנְנִ֤י

hin·nî

פוֹקֵד֙

p̄ō·w·qêḏ

will bring punishment

אֶל־

’el-

to

אָמ֣וֹן

’ā·mō·wn

מִנֹּ֔א

min·nō,

of No

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

､ פַּרְעֹה֙

par·‘ōh

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

､ מִצְרַ֔יִם

miṣ·ra·yim,

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and with

､ אֱלֹהֶ֖יהָ

’ĕ·lō·he·hā

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and

– מְלָכֶ֑יהָ

mə·lā·ḵe·hā;

their kings –

וְעַ֨ל־

wə·‘al-

and

､ פַּרְעֹ֔ה

par·‘ōh,

וְעַ֥ל

wə·‘al

and

הַבֹּטְחִ֖ים

hab·bō·ṭə·ḥîm

those who trust

. בּֽוֹ׃

bōw.

in him .

וּנְתַתִּ֗ים

ū·nə·ṯat·tîm,

And I will deliver them

בְּיַד֙

bə·yaḏ

מְבַקְשֵׁ֣י

mə·ḇaq·šê

of those who seek

､ נַפְשָׁ֔ם

nap̄·šām,

their lives ､

וּבְיַ֛ד

ū·ḇə·yaḏ

and into the hand

נְבֽוּכַדְרֶאצַּ֥ר

nə·ḇū·ḵaḏ·reṣ·ṣar

of Nebuchadnezzar

מֶֽלֶךְ־

me·leḵ-

､ בָּבֶ֖ל

bā·ḇel

of Babylon ､

וּבְיַד־

ū·ḇə·yaḏ-

and the hand

. עֲבָדָ֑יו

‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw;

of his servants .

וְאַחֲרֵי־

wə·’a·ḥă·rê-

And

כֵ֛ן

ḵên

､ תִּשְׁכֹּ֥ן

tiš·kōn

it shall be inhabited ､

כִּֽימֵי־

kî·mê-

as in the days

､ קֶ֖דֶם

qe·ḏem

of old ､

נְאֻם־

nə·’um-

. יְהוָֽה׃

Yah·weh.

wə·’al-

and not

､ תֵּחַ֣ת

tê·ḥaṯ

do be dismayed ､

! יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

､ כִּ֠י

kî

for ､

הִנְנִ֤י

hin·nî

מוֹשִֽׁעֲךָ֙

mō·wō·ši·‘ă·ḵā

､ מֵֽרָח֔וֹק

mê·rā·ḥō·wq,

וְאֶֽת־

wə·’eṯ-

and

זַרְעֲךָ֖

zar·‘ă·ḵā

מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

mê·’e·reṣ

– שִׁבְיָ֑ם

šiḇ·yām;

of their captivity –

､ וְשָׁ֧ב

wə·šāḇ

and shall return ､

יַעֲק֛וֹב

ya·‘ă·qō·wḇ

וְשָׁקַ֥ט

wə·šā·qaṭ

､ וְשַׁאֲנַ֖ן

wə·ša·’ă·nan

and be at ease ､

וְאֵ֥ין

wə·’ên

and No one

. מַחֲרִֽיד׃

ma·ḥă·rîḏ.

shall make [him] afraid .

with you

אָ֑נִי

’ā·nî;

I [am]

כִּי֩

אֶעֱשֶׂ֨ה

’e·‘ĕ·śeh

I will make

כָלָ֜ה

בְּכָֽל־

bə·ḵāl

of all

הַגּוֹיִ֣ם ׀

hag·gō·w·yim

אֲשֶׁ֧ר

’ă·šer

הִדַּחְתִּ֣יךָ

hid·daḥ·tî·ḵā

I have driven you

שָׁ֗מָּה

šām·māh,

אֶעֱשֶׂ֣ה

’e·‘ĕ·śeh

I will make

כָלָ֔ה

ḵā·lāh,

וְיִסַּרְתִּ֙יךָ֙

wə·yis·sar·tî·ḵā

and I will correct you

– לַמִּשְׁפָּ֔ט

lam·miš·pāṭ,

וְנַקֵּ֖ה

wə·naq·qêh

לֹ֥א

lō

not

. אֲנַקֶּֽךָּ׃

’ă·naq·qe·kā.

I will leave you unpunished .
