anyone who will answer you

and to

מִקְּדֹשִׁ֣ים

of the holy ones

؟ תִּפְנֶֽה׃

will you turn ؟

כִּֽי־

לֶֽ֭אֱוִיל

יַהֲרָג־

כָּ֑עַשׂ

kā·‘aś;

וּ֝פֹתֶ֗ה

and a simple one

. קִנְאָֽה׃

qin·’āh.

אֲ‍ֽנִי־

’ănî-

רָ֭אִיתִי

the fool

– מַשְׁרִ֑ישׁ

taking root –

וָאֶקּ֖וֹב

but I cursed

נָוֵ֣הוּ

his dwelling place

. פִתְאֹֽם׃

יִרְחֲק֣וּ

yir·ḥă·qū

בָנָ֣יו

ḇā·nāw

､ מִיֶּ֑שַׁע

mî·ye·ša‘;

from safety ､

וְיִֽדַּכְּא֥וּ

wə·yid·dak·kə·’ū

and they are crushed

､ בַ֝שַּׁ֗עַר

ḇaš·ša·‘ar,

in the gate ､

וְאֵ֣ין

wə·’ên

and [there is] no

. מַצִּֽיל׃

maṣ·ṣîl.

אֲשֶׁ֤ר

קְצִיר֨וֹ ׀

qə·ṣî·rōw

רָ֘עֵ֤ב

､ יֹאכֵ֗ל

eat up ､

וְאֶֽל־

and even

､ מִצִּנִּ֥ים

from the thorns ､

יִקָּחֵ֑הוּ

וְשָׁאַ֖ף

צַמִּ֣ים

. חֵילָֽם׃

to trouble ､

unsearchable –

נִ֝פְלָא֗וֹת

Marvelous things

עַד־

‘aḏ-

אֵ֥ין

. מִסְפָּֽר׃

הַנֹּתֵ֣ן

han·nō·ṯên

מָ֭טָר

mā·ṭār

עַל־

‘al-

on

פְּנֵי־

on

､ אָ֑רֶץ

the earth ､

וְשֹׁ֥לֵֽחַ

wə·šō·lê·aḥ

מַ֝יִם

עַל־

פְּנֵ֥י

､ חוּצֽוֹת׃

ḥū·ṣō·wṯ.

the fields ､

לָשׂ֣וּם

lā·śūm

– שְׁפָלִ֣ים

šə·p̄ā·lîm

those who are lowly –

לְמָר֑וֹם

lə·mā·rō·wm;

וְ֝קֹדְרִ֗ים

wə·qō·ḏə·rîm,

and those who mourn

שָׂ֣גְבוּ

śā·ḡə·ḇū

. יֶֽשַׁע׃

ye·ša‘.

מֵ֭פֵר

mê·p̄êr

מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת

maḥ·šə·ḇō·wṯ

､ עֲרוּמִ֑ים

‘ă·rū·mîm;

of the crafty ､

וְֽלֹא־

wə·lō-

תַעֲשֶׂ֥ינָה

ṯa·‘ă·śe·nāh

יְ֝דֵיהֶ֗ם

yə·ḏê·hem,

. תּוּשִׁיָּֽה׃

tū·šî·yāh.

לֹכֵ֣ד

lō·ḵêḏ

חֲכָמִ֣ים

ḥă·ḵā·mîm

the wise

､ בְּעָרְמָ֑ם

bə·‘ā·rə·mām;

in their own craftiness ､

וַעֲצַ֖ת

wa·‘ă·ṣaṯ

and the counsel

נִפְתָּלִ֣ים

nip̄·tā·lîm

of the cunning

. נִמְהָֽרָה׃

nim·hā·rāh.

comes quickly upon them .

､ יוֹמָ֥ם

yō·w·mām

In the daytime ､

יְפַגְּשׁוּ־

yə·p̄ag·gə·šū-

חֹ֑שֶׁךְ

ḥō·šeḵ;

וְ֝כַלַּ֗יְלָה

wə·ḵal·lay·lāh,

and as in the night

יְֽמַשְׁשׁ֥וּ

yə·maš·šū

. בַֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃

ḇaṣ·ṣā·ho·rā·yim.

וַיֹּ֣שַׁע

way·yō·ša‘

But He saves

､ מֵ֭חֶרֶב

mê·ḥe·reḇ

from the sword ､

､ מִפִּיהֶ֑ם

mip·pî·hem;

from the mouth of ､

וּמִיַּ֖ד

ū·mî·yaḏ

and from their hand

חָזָ֣ק

ḥā·zāq

. אֶבְיֽוֹן׃

’eḇ·yō·wn.

the needy .

וַתְּהִ֣י

wat·tə·hî

לַדַּ֣ל

lad·dal

the poor

､ תִּקְוָ֑ה

tiq·wāh;

hope ､

וְ֝עֹלָ֗תָה

wə·‘ō·lā·ṯāh,

קָ֣פְצָה

qā·p̄ə·ṣāh

. פִּֽיהָ׃

pî·hā.

､ הִנֵּ֤ה

hin·nêh

אַשְׁרֵ֣י

’aš·rê

happy [is]

אֱ֭נוֹשׁ

’ĕ·nō·wōš

the man

､ יוֹכִחֶ֣נּֽוּ

yō·w·ḵi·ḥen·nū

whom corrects ､

אֱל֑וֹהַּ

’ĕ·lō·w·ah;

וּמוּסַ֥ר

ū·mū·sar

therefore the chastening

שַׁ֝דַּ֗י

day,

of the Almighty

’al-

not

. תִּמְאָֽס׃

tim·’ās.

– וְיֶחְבָּ֑שׁ

but He binds up –

､ יִ֝מְחַ֗ץ

He wounds ､

. תִּרְפֶּֽינָה׃

בְּשֵׁ֣שׁ

יַצִּילֶ֑ךָּ

yaṣ·ṣî·le·kā;

He shall deliver you

וּבְשֶׁ֓בַע ׀

בְּךָ֣

He shall redeem you

､ מִמָּ֑וֶת

mim·mā·weṯ;

וּ֝בְמִלְחָמָ֗ה

ū·ḇə·mil·ḥā·māh,

and in war

מִ֣ידֵי

mî·ḏê

. חָֽרֶב׃

ḥā·reḇ.

of the sword .

בְּשׁ֣וֹט

bə·šō·wṭ

From the scourge

､ לָ֭שׁוֹן

lā·šō·wn

of the tongue ､

תֵּחָבֵ֑א

tê·ḥā·ḇê;

You shall be hidden

וְֽלֹא־

wə·lō-

and not

תִירָ֥א

ṯî·rā

you shall be afraid

מִ֝שֹּׁ֗ד

miš·šōḏ,

כִּ֣י

kî

. יָבֽוֹא׃

it comes .

לְשֹׁ֣ד

וּלְכָפָ֣ן

– תִּשְׂחָ֑ק

tiś·ḥāq;

You shall laugh –

וּֽמֵחַיַּ֥ת

ū·mê·ḥay·yaṯ

and of the beasts

הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ

hā·’ā·reṣ,

of the earth

אַל־

’al-

not

. תִּירָֽא׃

tî·rā.

you shall be afraid .

כִּ֤י

kî

עִם־

‘im-

with

אַבְנֵ֣י

’aḇ·nê

､ הַשָּׂדֶ֣ה

haś·śā·ḏeh

of the field ､

בְרִיתֶ֑ךָ

ḇə·rî·ṯe·ḵā;

you shall have a covenant

וְחַיַּ֥ת

wə·ḥay·yaṯ

and the beasts

הַ֝שָּׂדֶ֗ה

haś·śā·ḏeh,

of the field

הָשְׁלְמָה־

hā·šə·lə·māh-

shall be at peace

. לָֽךְ׃

lāḵ.

with you .

וְֽ֭יָדַעְתָּ

wə·yā·ḏa‘·tā

And You shall know

כִּי־

kî-

– שָׁל֣וֹם

šā·lō·wm

in peace –

אָהֳלֶ֑ךָ

’ā·ho·le·ḵā;

וּֽפָקַדְתָּ֥

ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tā

and You shall visit

､ נָ֝וְךָ

nā·wə·ḵā

your dwelling ､

וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

. תֶחֱטָֽא׃

ṯe·ḥĕ·ṭā.

וְֽ֭יָדַעְתָּ

wə·yā·ḏa‘·tā

And You shall know

כִּי־

kî-

､ רַ֣ב

raḇ

many ､

זַרְעֶ֑ךָ

zar·‘e·ḵā;

your descendants [shall be]

וְ֝צֶאֱצָאֶ֗יךָ

wə·ṣe·’ĕ·ṣā·’e·ḵā,

and your offspring

כְּעֵ֣שֶׂב

kə·‘ê·śeḇ

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

of the earth .

תָּב֣וֹא

tā·ḇō·w

､ בְכֶ֣לַח

ḇə·ḵe·laḥ

at a full age ､

אֱלֵי־

’ĕ·lê-

to

קָ֑בֶר

qā·ḇer;

כַּעֲל֖וֹת

ka·‘ă·lō·wṯ

גָּדִ֣ישׁ

gā·ḏîš

a sheaf of grain

. בְּעִתּֽוֹ׃

bə·‘it·tōw.

in its season .

הִנֵּה־

hin·nêh-

this ､

חֲקַרְנ֥וּהָ

ḥă·qar·nū·hā

we have searched out

כֶּֽן־

הִ֑יא

hî;

it [is]

שְׁ֝מָעֶ֗נָּה

mā·‘en·nāh,

וְאַתָּ֥ה

wə·’at·tāh

and you
