אִ֣ישׁ

– יִשָּׂשכָ֑ר

of Issachar –

וְהֽוּא־

and he

יֹשֵׁ֥ב

yō·šêḇ

בְּשָׁמִ֖יר

bə·šā·mîr

בְּהַ֥ר

bə·har

in the mountains

. אֶפְרָֽיִם׃

וַיִּשְׁפֹּט֙

And He judged

אֶת־

’eṯ-

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

עֶשְׂרִ֥ים

‘eś·rîm

וְשָׁלֹ֖שׁ

wə·šā·lōš

､ שָׁנָ֑ה

šā·nāh;

､ וַיָּ֖מָת

way·yā·māṯ

and he died ､

וַיִּקָּבֵ֥ר

way·yiq·qā·ḇêr

. בְּשָׁמִֽיר׃

in the land

. הַגִּלְעָֽד׃

､ וַיָּ֣מָת

And died ､

יָאִ֔יר

yā·’îr,

וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר

way·yiq·qā·ḇêr

. בְּקָמֽוֹן׃

the gods

בְנֵי־

the gods

וַיַּעַזְב֥וּ

and they forsook

אֶת־

’eṯ-

､ יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

וְלֹ֥א

and not

. עֲבָדֽוּהוּ׃

‘ă·ḇā·ḏū·hū.

did serve Him .

וַיִּֽחַר־

way·yi·ḥar-

אַ֥ף

יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל

bə·yiś·rā·’êl;

against Israel ､

וַֽיִּמְכְּרֵם֙

way·yim·kə·rêm

and He sold them

בְּיַד־

bə·yaḏ-

､ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים

pə·liš·tîm,

of the Philistines ､

וּבְיַ֖ד

ū·ḇə·yaḏ

and into the hands

בְּנֵ֥י

bə·nê

of the sons

. עַמּֽוֹן׃

‘am·mō·wn.

of Ammon .

וַֽיִּרְעֲצ֤וּ

way·yir·‘ă·ṣū

And they harassed

וַיְרֹֽצְצוּ֙

way·rō·ṣə·ṣū

the sons

– יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

of Israel –

בַּשָּׁנָ֖ה

עֶשְׂרֵ֜ה

‘eś·rêh

[and] ten

､ שָׁנָ֗ה

בְּנֵ֤י

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵל֙

אֲשֶׁר֙

בְּעֵ֣בֶר

on the other side

הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן

hay·yar·dên,

of the Jordan

בְּאֶ֥רֶץ

bə·’e·reṣ

in the land

､ הָאֱמֹרִ֖י

of the Amorites ､

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

. בַּגִּלְעָֽד׃

וַיַּעַבְר֤וּ

Moreover crossed over

בְנֵֽי־

the sons

עַמּוֹן֙

‘am·mō·wn

’eṯ-

הַיַּרְדֵּ֔ן

hay·yar·dên,

לְהִלָּחֵ֛ם

lə·hil·lā·ḥêm

גַּם־

gam-

､ בִּיהוּדָ֥ה

bî·hū·ḏāh

against Judah ､

､ וּבְבִנְיָמִ֖ין

ū·ḇə·ḇin·yā·mîn

and against Benjamin ､

וּבְבֵ֣ית

ū·ḇə·ḇêṯ

and against the house

– אֶפְרָ֑יִם

’ep̄·rā·yim;

of Ephraim –

וַתֵּ֥צֶר

wat·tê·ṣer

so that was distressed

לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל

lə·yiś·rā·’êl

. מְאֹֽד׃

mə·’ōḏ.

וַֽיִּזְעֲקוּ֙

way·yiz·‘ă·qū

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ יְהוָ֖ה

Yah·weh

､ לֵאמֹ֑ר

lê·mōr;

חָטָ֣אנוּ

לָ֔ךְ

we have both forsaken

､ אֱלֹהֵ֔ינוּ

וַֽנַּעֲבֹ֖ד

wan·na·‘ă·ḇōḏ

the Philistines ؟

וְצִידוֹנִ֤ים

and the Sidonians

､ וַֽעֲמָלֵק֙

wa·‘ă·mā·lêq

and Amalekites ､

､ וּמָע֔וֹן

ū·mā·‘ō·wn,

and Maonites ､

לָחֲצ֖וּ

lā·ḥă·ṣū

אֶתְכֶ֑ם

’eṯ·ḵem;

וַתִּצְעֲק֣וּ

wat·tiṣ·‘ă·qū

and you cried out

אֵלַ֔י

’ê·lay,

to Me

וָאוֹשִׁ֥יעָה

wā·’ō·wō·šî·‘āh

and I delivered

אֶתְכֶ֖ם

’eṯ·ḵem

. מִיָּדָֽם׃

mî·yā·ḏām.

from their hand .

וְאַתֶּם֙

wə·’at·tem

עֲזַבְתֶּ֣ם

‘ă·zaḇ·tem

אוֹתִ֔י

’ō·w·ṯî,

Me

וַתַּעַבְד֖וּ

wat·ta·‘aḇ·ḏū

– אֱלֹהִ֣ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

gods –

אֲחֵרִ֑ים

’ă·ḥê·rîm;

לָכֵ֥ן

lā·ḵên

לֹֽא־

lō-

no

אוֹסִ֖יף

לְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ

I will deliver

. אֶתְכֶֽם׃

לְכ֗וּ

Go

וְזַֽעֲקוּ֙

wə·za·‘ă·qū

אֶל־

’el-

to

הָ֣אֱלֹהִ֔ים

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

the gods

אֲשֶׁ֥ר

’ă·šer

– בְּחַרְתֶּ֖ם

bə·ḥar·tem

you have chosen –

בָּ֑ם

bām;

הֵ֛מָּה

hêm·māh

יוֹשִׁ֥יעוּ

yō·wō·šî·‘ū

לָכֶ֖ם

lā·ḵem

בְּעֵ֥ת

bə·‘êṯ

. צָרַתְכֶֽם׃

ṣā·raṯ·ḵem.

of your distress .

וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ

And said

בְנֵי־

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל

אֶל־

to

､ יְהוָה֙

Yah·weh

､ חָטָ֔אנוּ

ḥā·ṭā·nū,

we have sinned ､

עֲשֵׂה־

‘ă·śêh-

do

אַתָּ֣ה

’at·tāh

לָ֔נוּ

lā·nū,

to us

כְּכָל־

kə·ḵāl-

הַטּ֖וֹב

haṭ·ṭō·wḇ

בְּעֵינֶ֑יךָ

bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā;

to You

､ אַ֛ךְ

’aḵ

only ､

הַצִּילֵ֥נוּ

haṣ·ṣî·lê·nū

､ נָ֖א

nā

we pray ､

הַיּ֥וֹם

hay·yō·wm

. הַזֶּֽה׃

haz·zeh.

וַיָּסִ֜ירוּ

way·yā·sî·rū

So they put away

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

אֱלֹהֵ֤י

’ĕ·lō·hê

הַנֵּכָר֙

han·nê·ḵār

מִקִּרְבָּ֔ם

miq·qir·bām,

from among them

וַיַּעַבְד֖וּ

way·ya·‘aḇ·ḏū

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

– יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

וַתִּקְצַ֥ר

wat·tiq·ṣar

and could no longer endure

נַפְשׁ֖וֹ

nap̄·šōw

בַּעֲמַ֥ל

ba·‘ă·mal

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

､ וַיִּצָּֽעֲקוּ֙

way·yiṣ·ṣā·‘ă·qū

And gathered together ､

בְּנֵ֣י

the sons

עַמּ֔וֹן

‘am·mō·wn,

וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ

way·ya·ḥă·nū

. בַּגִּלְעָ֑ד

bag·gil·‘āḏ;

､ וַיֵּאָֽסְפוּ֙

And assembled together ､

בְּנֵ֣י

bə·nê

the sons

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

yiś·rā·’êl,

וַֽיַּחֲנ֖וּ

way·ya·ḥă·nū

. בַּמִּצְפָּֽה׃

bam·miṣ·pāh.

וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ

way·yō·mə·rū

And said

הָעָ֜ם

hā·‘ām

שָׂרֵ֤י

śā·rê

גִלְעָד֙

ḡil·‘āḏ

אִ֣ישׁ

’îš

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ רֵעֵ֔הוּ

rê·‘ê·hū,

מִ֣י

mî

who [is]

הָאִ֔ישׁ

hā·’îš,

the man

אֲשֶׁ֣ר

’ă·šer

יָחֵ֔ל

yā·ḥêl,

will begin

לְהִלָּחֵ֖ם

lə·hil·lā·ḥêm

בִּבְנֵ֣י

biḇ·nê

against the sons

؟ עַמּ֑וֹן

‘am·mō·wn;

of Ammon ؟

יִֽהְיֶ֣ה

yih·yeh

He shall be

לְרֹ֔אשׁ

lə·rōš,

לְכֹ֖ל

lə·ḵōl

יֹשְׁבֵ֥י

yō·šə·ḇê

the inhabitants

. גִלְעָֽד׃

ḡil·‘āḏ.
