הַגִּלְעָדִ֗י

הָיָה֙

גִּבּ֣וֹר

､ חַ֔יִל

ḥa·yil,

of valor ､

וְה֖וּא

wə·hū

but he [was]

בֶּן־

ben-

the son of

אִשָּׁ֣ה

’iš·šāh

– זוֹנָ֑ה

zō·w·nāh;

a harlot –

וַיּ֥וֹלֶד

way·yō·w·leḏ

and he begat

גִּלְעָ֖ד

gil·‘āḏ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

. יִפְתָּֽח׃

yip̄·tāḥ.

וַתֵּ֧לֶד

wat·tê·leḏ

And bore

אֵֽשֶׁת־

’ê·šeṯ-

גִּלְעָ֛ד

gil·‘āḏ

to him

– בָּנִ֑ים

bā·nîm;

sons –

､ וַיִּגְדְּל֨וּ

and when grew up ､

בְֽנֵי־

הָאִשָּׁ֜ה

וַיְגָרְשׁ֣וּ

way·ḡā·rə·šū

and they drove out

אֶת־

’eṯ-

､ יִפְתָּ֗ח

yip̄·tāḥ,

וַיֹּ֤אמְרוּ

way·yō·mə·rū

and said

לוֹ֙

to him

לֹֽא־

תִנְחַ֣ל

You shall have inheritance

– בְּבֵית־

in house –

אָבִ֔ינוּ

כִּ֛י

the son

אִשָּׁ֥ה

אַחֶ֖רֶת

. אָֽתָּה׃

וַיִּבְרַ֤ח

way·yiḇ·raḥ

And fled

יִפְתָּח֙

yip̄·tāḥ

מִפְּנֵ֣י

mip·pə·nê

､ אֶחָ֔יו

’e·ḥāw,

his brothers ､

וַיֵּ֖שֶׁב

way·yê·šeḇ

בְּאֶ֣רֶץ

bə·’e·reṣ

in the land

– ט֑וֹב

ṭō·wḇ;

of Tob –

וַיִּֽתְלַקְּט֤וּ

way·yiṯ·laq·qə·ṭū

and banded together

אֶל־

’el-

with

､ יִפְתָּח֙

yip̄·tāḥ

אֲנָשִׁ֣ים

’ă·nā·šîm

רֵיקִ֔ים

rê·qîm,

וַיֵּצְא֖וּ

way·yê·ṣə·’ū

and went out [raiding]

through his territory –

and shall surely be

､ לַֽיהוָ֔ה

וְהַעֲלִיתִ֖הוּ

and I will offer it up

as a burnt offering .

וַתֵּ֤לֶךְ

and went

and with her friends ､

וַתֵּ֥בְךְּ

the mountains .

､ חֳדָשִׁ֗ים

וַתָּ֙שָׁב֙

and he carried out

[that] the daughters

יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל

הַגִּלְעָדִ֑י
