וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר

､ צָפ֑וֹנָה

וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ

and said
､ לְיִפְתָּ֜ח
lə·yip̄·tāḥ
to Jephthah ､
מַדּ֣וּעַ ׀
mad·dū·a‘
עָבַ֣רְתָּ ׀
‘ā·ḇar·tā
לְהִלָּחֵ֣ם
lə·hil·lā·ḥêm
בִּבְנֵי־
biḇ·nê-
､ עַמּ֗וֹן
‘am·mō·wn,
of Ammon ､
וְלָ֙נוּ֙
wə·lā·nū
and us
לֹ֤א
lō
not
קָרָ֙אתָ֙
qā·rā·ṯā
לָלֶ֣כֶת
lā·le·ḵeṯ
to go
עִמָּ֔ךְ
‘im·māḵ,
with you
בֵּיתְךָ֕
bê·ṯə·ḵā
נִשְׂרֹ֥ף
niś·rōp̄
we will burn down
עָלֶ֖יךָ
‘ā·le·ḵā
on you
. בָּאֵֽשׁ׃
bā·’êš.
with fire .

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר
way·yō·mer
And said
יִפְתָּח֙
yip̄·tāḥ
אֲלֵיהֶ֔ם
’ă·lê·hem,
to them
אִ֣ישׁ
’îš
a man
רִ֗יב
rîḇ,
הָיִ֛יתִי
hā·yî·ṯî
אֲנִ֛י
’ă·nî
I
וְעַמִּ֥י
wə·‘am·mî
and My people
וּבְנֵֽי־
ū·ḇə·nê-
and with the sons
– עַמּ֖וֹן
‘am·mō·wn
of Ammon –
מְאֹ֑ד
mə·’ōḏ;
וָאֶזְעַ֣ק
wā·’ez·‘aq
and when I called
אֶתְכֶ֔ם
’eṯ·ḵem,
וְלֹֽא־
wə·lō-
and not
הוֹשַׁעְתֶּ֥ם
hō·wō·ša‘·tem
אוֹתִ֖י
’ō·w·ṯî
me
. מִיָּדָֽם׃
mî·yā·ḏām.

וָֽאֶרְאֶ֞ה
wā·’er·’eh
So when I saw
כִּֽי־

､ אֵינְךָ֣

not ､
מוֹשִׁ֗יע‪‬‪‬‪‬
mō·wō·šî·a‘,
וָאָשִׂ֨ימָה
wā·’ā·śî·māh
and I took
נַפְשִׁ֤י
nap̄·šî
my life
､ בְכַפִּי֙
ḇə·ḵap·pî
in my hands ､
וָֽאֶעְבְּרָה֙
wā·’e‘·bə·rāh
אֶל־
’el-
בְּנֵ֣י
bə·nê
the sons
עַמּ֔וֹן
‘am·mō·wn,
וַיִּתְּנֵ֥ם
way·yit·tə·nêm
יְהוָ֖ה
Yah·weh
. בְּיָדִ֑י
bə·yā·ḏî;
into my hand .
וְלָמָ֞ה
wə·lā·māh
עֲלִיתֶ֥ם

אֵלַ֛י
’ê·lay
to me
､ הַיּ֥וֹם

הַזֶּ֖ה

לְהִלָּ֥חֶם

of Gilead ､
וַיִּלָּ֖חֶם

and fought

– אֶפְרָ֑יִם

וַיַּכּוּ֩
way·yak·kū
אַנְשֵׁ֨י

the men
גִלְעָ֜ד

And seized

מַעְבְּר֥וֹת

the fords
הַיַּרְדֵּ֖ן
hay·yar·dên
of the Jordan
. לְאֶפְרָ֑יִם
lə·’ep̄·rā·yim;
וְֽ֠הָיָה
wə·hā·yāh
And when
כִּ֣י
kî
､ יֹאמְר֞וּ
yō·mə·rū
said ､
פְּלִיטֵ֤י
pə·lî·ṭê
אֶפְרַ֙יִם֙

– אֶעֱבֹ֔רָה
’e·‘ĕ·ḇō·rāh,
let me cross over –
וַיֹּ֨אמְרוּ

to him
אַנְשֵֽׁי־

the men
גִלְעָ֛ד

؟ הַֽאֶפְרָתִ֥י

and if he said ､

וַיָּ֗מָת

And died

､ הַגִּלְעָדִ֔י

the Gileadite ､
וַיִּקָּבֵ֖ר

בְּעָרֵ֥י

in among the cities
