וַיִּפְנ֞וּ
way·yip̄·nū
לִפְנֵ֨י
lip̄·nê
אִ֤ישׁ
’îš
the men
יִשְׂרָאֵל֙
yiś·rā·’êl
אֶל־
’el-
in
דֶּ֣רֶךְ
de·reḵ
– הַמִּדְבָּ֔ר
ham·miḏ·bār,
of the wilderness –
וְהַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה
wə·ham·mil·ḥā·māh
but the battle
הִדְבִּיקָ֑תְהוּ
hiḏ·bî·qā·ṯə·hū;
וַאֲשֶׁר֙
wa·’ă·šer
מֵהֶ֣עָרִ֔ים
mê·he·‘ā·rîm,
out of the cities
מַשְׁחִיתִ֥ים
maš·ḥî·ṯîm
אוֹת֖וֹ
’ō·w·ṯōw
-
. בְּתוֹכֽוֹ׃
bə·ṯō·w·ḵōw.
