He Listens to My Voice

אָ֭הַבְתִּי

’ā·haḇ·tî

כִּֽי־

kî-

יִשְׁמַ֥ע ׀

yiš·ma‘

､ יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

ק֝וֹלִ֗י

qō·w·lî,

. תַּחֲנוּנָֽי׃

ta·ḥă·nū·nāy.

[and] my supplications .

כִּֽי־

kî-

הִטָּ֣ה

hiṭ·ṭāh

He has inclined

אָזְנ֣וֹ

’ā·zə·nōw

לִ֑י

lî;

to me

וּבְיָמַ֥י

ū·ḇə·yā·may

therefore as long as I live

. אֶקְרָֽא׃

’eq·rā.

I will call [upon Him] .

אֲפָפ֤וּנִי ׀

’ă·p̄ā·p̄ū·nî

חֶבְלֵי־

ḥeḇ·lê-

מָ֗וֶת

mā·weṯ,

וּמְצָרֵ֣י

ū·mə·ṣā·rê

and the pangs

שְׁא֣וֹל

šə·’ō·wl

מְצָא֑וּנִי

mə·ṣā·’ū·nî;

laid hold of me

צָרָ֖ה

ṣā·rāh

וְיָג֣וֹן

wə·yā·ḡō·wn

. אֶמְצָֽא׃

’em·ṣā.

וּבְשֵֽׁם־

ū·ḇə·šêm-

And upon the name

– יְהוָ֥ה

Yah·weh

of Yahweh –

אֶקְרָ֑א

’eq·rā;

אָנָּ֥ה

’ān·nāh

､ יְ֝הוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

מַלְּטָ֥ה

mal·lə·ṭāh

. נַפְשִֽׁי׃

nap̄·šî.

my soul .

חַנּ֣וּן

ḥan·nūn

､ יְהֹוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

– וְצַדִּ֑יק

wə·ṣad·dîq;

and righteous –

וֵ֖אלֹהֵ֣ינוּ

wê·lō·hê·nū

and Yes our God [is]

. מְרַחֵֽם׃

mə·ra·ḥêm.

שֹׁמֵ֣ר

šō·mêr

– פְּתָאיִ֣ם

pə·ṯā·yim

the simple –

יְהֹוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

､ דַּ֝לּוֹתִ֗י

dal·lō·w·ṯî,

I was brought low ､

וְלִ֣י

wə·lî

and me

. יְהוֹשִֽׁיעַ׃

yə·hō·wō·šî·a‘.

He saved .

שׁוּבִ֣י

šū·ḇî

– נַ֭פְשִׁי

nap̄·šî

my soul –

לִמְנוּחָ֑יְכִי

lim·nū·ḥā·yə·ḵî;

כִּֽי־

kî-

יְ֝הוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

גָּמַ֥ל

gā·mal

has dealt bountifully

. עָלָֽיְכִי׃

‘ā·lā·yə·ḵî.

with you .

כִּ֤י

kî

חִלַּ֥צְתָּ

ḥil·laṣ·tā

You have delivered

נַפְשִׁ֗י

nap̄·šî,

､ מִ֫מָּ֥וֶת

mim·mā·weṯ

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

עֵינִ֥י

‘ê·nî

､ מִן־

min-

from ､

､ דִּמְעָ֑ה

dim·‘āh;

אֶת־

’eṯ-

-

רַגְלִ֥י

raḡ·lî

[And] my feet

. מִדֶּֽחִי׃

mid·de·ḥî.

אֶ֭תְהַלֵּךְ

’eṯ·hal·lêḵ

I will walk

לִפְנֵ֣י

lip̄·nê

יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

בְּ֝אַרְצ֗וֹת

bə·’ar·ṣō·wṯ,

in the land

. הַֽחַיִּֽים׃

ha·ḥay·yîm.

of the living .

､ הֶ֭אֱמַנְתִּי

he·’ĕ·man·tî

כִּ֣י

kî

､ אֲדַבֵּ֑ר

’ă·ḏab·bêr;

I spoke ､

אֲ֝נִ֗י

’ă·nî,

I

עָנִ֥יתִי

‘ā·nî·ṯî

. מְאֹֽד׃

mə·’ōḏ.

אֲ֭נִי

’ă·nî

I

אָמַ֣רְתִּי

’ā·mar·tî

､ בְחָפְזִ֑י

ḇə·ḥā·p̄ə·zî;

in my haste ､

כָּֽל־

kāl-

הָאָדָ֥ם

hā·’ā·ḏām

. כֹּזֵֽב׃

kō·zêḇ.

מָֽה־

māh-

אָשִׁ֥יב

’ā·šîḇ

לַיהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

כָּֽל־

kāl-

תַּגְמוּל֥וֹהִי

taḡ·mū·lō·w·hî

. עָלָֽי׃

‘ā·lāy.

כּוֹס־

kō·ws-

The cup

､ יְשׁוּע֥וֹת

yə·šū·‘ō·wṯ

of salvation ､

אֶשָּׂ֑א

’eś·śā;

I will take up

וּבְשֵׁ֖ם

ū·ḇə·šêm

and upon the name

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

. אֶקְרָֽא׃

’eq·rā.

נְ֭דָרַי

nə·ḏā·ray

לַיהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

אֲשַׁלֵּ֑ם

’ă·šal·lêm;

I will pay

נֶגְדָה־

neḡ·ḏāh-

in the presence

נָּ֝֗א

nā,

לְכָל־

lə·ḵāl

of all

. עַמּֽוֹ׃

‘am·mōw.

יָ֭קָר

yā·qār

בְּעֵינֵ֣י

bə·‘ê·nê

in the sight

יְהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

הַ֝מָּ֗וְתָה

ham·mā·wə·ṯāh,

[Is] the death

. לַחֲסִידָֽיו׃

la·ḥă·sî·ḏāw.

of His saints .

אָֽנָּ֣ה

’ān·nāh

､ יְהוָה֮

Yah·weh

כִּֽי־

kî-

אֲנִ֪י

’ă·nî

I [am]

– עַ֫בְדֶּ֥ךָ

‘aḇ·de·ḵā

Your servant –

אֲ‍ֽנִי־

’ănî-

I [am]

､ עַ֭בְדְּךָ

‘aḇ·də·ḵā

Your servant ､

בֶּן־

ben-

the son

､ אֲמָתֶ֑ךָ

’ă·mā·ṯe·ḵā;

of Your maidservant ､

פִּ֝תַּ֗חְתָּ

pit·taḥ·tā,

You have loosed

. לְמוֹסֵרָֽי׃

lə·mō·w·sê·rāy.

my bonds .

לְֽךָ־

lə·ḵā-

To You

אֶ֭זְבַּח

’ez·baḥ

I will offer

זֶ֣בַח

ze·ḇaḥ

､ תּוֹדָ֑ה

tō·w·ḏāh;

of thanksgiving ､

וּבְשֵׁ֖ם

ū·ḇə·šêm

and upon the name

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

. אֶקְרָֽא׃

’eq·rā.

will call .

נְ֭דָרַי

nə·ḏā·ray

לַיהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

אֲשַׁלֵּ֑ם

’ă·šal·lêm;

I will pay

נֶגְדָה־

neḡ·ḏāh-

in the presence

נָּ֝֗א

nā,

לְכָל־

lə·ḵāl

of all

､ עַמּֽוֹ׃

‘am·mōw.

בְּחַצְר֤וֹת ׀

bə·ḥaṣ·rō·wṯ

in the courts

､ בֵּ֤ית

bêṯ

of the house ､

יְהוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

בְּֽת֘וֹכֵ֤כִי

bə·ṯō·w·ḵê·ḵî

in the midst of you

יְֽרוּשָׁלִָ֗ם

yə·rū·šā·lim,

הַֽלְלוּ־

hal·lū-

. יָֽהּ׃

yāh.
