After the Battle

､ לַמְנַצֵּ֗חַ

lam·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ,

To the Chief Musician ､

מִזְמ֥וֹר

miz·mō·wr

. לְדָוִֽד׃

lə·ḏā·wiḏ.

of David .

– יְֽהוָ֗ה

Yah·weh

､ בְּעָזְּךָ֥

bə·‘āz·zə·ḵā

in Your strength ､

יִשְׂמַח־

yiś·maḥ-

מֶ֑לֶךְ

me·leḵ;

the king

וּ֝בִישׁ֥וּעָתְךָ֗

ū·ḇî·šū·‘ā·ṯə·ḵā,

and in Your salvation

מַה־

mah-

! מְאֹֽד׃[[יגילמְאֹֽד׃]]

yā·ḡel

shall he rejoice !

. יָּ֥גֶל‪‬*

mə·’ōḏ.

､ תַּאֲוַ֣ת

ta·’ă·waṯ

לִ֭בּוֹ

lib·bōw

נָתַ֣תָּה

nā·ṯat·tāh

לּ֑וֹ

lōw;

וַאֲרֶ֥שֶׁת

wa·’ă·re·šeṯ

and the request

. שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו

p̄ā·ṯāw,

בַּל־

bal-

Not

מָנַ֥עְתָּ

mā·na‘·tā

. סֶּֽלָה׃

se·lāh.

כִּֽי־

kî-

תְ֭קַדְּמֶנּוּ

ṯə·qad·də·men·nū

בִּרְכ֣וֹת

bir·ḵō·wṯ

with the blessings

– ט֑וֹב

ṭō·wḇ;

of goodness –

תָּשִׁ֥ית

tā·šîṯ

לְ֝רֹאשׁ֗וֹ

lə·rō·šōw,

עֲטֶ֣רֶת

‘ă·ṭe·reṯ

. פָּֽז׃

pāz.

חַיִּ֤ים ׀

ḥay·yîm

שָׁאַ֣ל

šā·’al

מִ֭מְּךָ

mim·mə·ḵā

נָתַ֣תָּה

nā·ṯat·tāh

[and] You gave [it]

לּ֑וֹ

lōw;

to him

אֹ֥רֶךְ

’ō·reḵ

יָ֝מִ֗ים

yā·mîm,

עוֹלָ֥ם

‘ō·w·lām

. וָעֶֽד׃

wā·‘eḏ.

and ever .

גָּד֣וֹל

gā·ḏō·wl

כְּ֭בוֹדוֹ

kə·ḇō·w·ḏōw

､ בִּישׁוּעָתֶ֑ךָ

bî·šū·‘ā·ṯe·ḵā;

in Your salvation ､

ה֥וֹד

hō·wḏ

וְ֝הָדָר

wə·hā·ḏār

תְּשַׁוֶּ֥ה

tə·šaw·weh

You have placed

. עָלָֽיו׃

‘ā·lāw.

כִּֽי־

kî-

תְשִׁיתֵ֣הוּ

ṯə·šî·ṯê·hū

You have made him

בְרָכ֣וֹת

ḇə·rā·ḵō·wṯ

– לָעַ֑ד

lā·‘aḏ;

תְּחַדֵּ֥הוּ

tə·ḥad·dê·hū

You have made him glad

בְ֝שִׂמְחָ֗ה

ḇə·śim·ḥāh,

אֶת־

’eṯ-

with

. פָּנֶֽיךָ׃

pā·ne·ḵā.

Your presence .

כִּֽי־

kî-

הַ֭מֶּלֶךְ

ham·me·leḵ

the king

בֹּטֵ֣חַ

bō·ṭê·aḥ

､ בַּיהוָ֑ה

Yah·weh;

in Yahweh ､

וּבְחֶ֥סֶד

ū·ḇə·ḥe·seḏ

and through the mercy

עֶ֝לְי֗וֹן

‘el·yō·wn,

of the Most High

בַּל־

bal-

not

. יִמּֽוֹט׃

yim·mō·wṭ.

he shall be moved .

תִּמְצָ֣א

tim·ṣā

Will find

יָ֭דְךָ

yā·ḏə·ḵā

לְכָל־

lə·ḵāl

– אֹיְבֶ֑יךָ

’ō·yə·ḇe·ḵā;

Your enemies –

יְ֝מִֽינְךָ

yə·mî·nə·ḵā

Your right hand

תִּמְצָ֥א

tim·ṣā

will find

. שֹׂנְאֶֽיךָ׃

śō·nə·’e·ḵā.

those who hate You .

תְּשִׁיתֵ֤מוֹ ׀

tə·šî·ṯê·mōw

You shall make them

כְּתַנּ֥וּר

kə·ṯan·nūr

as a oven

אֵשׁ֮

’êš

לְעֵ֪ת

lə·‘êṯ

in the time

– פָּ֫נֶ֥יךָ

pā·ne·ḵā

of Your anger –

יְ֭הוָה

Yah·weh

､ בְּאַפּ֣וֹ

bə·’ap·pōw

in His wrath ､

יְבַלְּעֵ֑ם

yə·ḇal·lə·‘êm;

shall swallow them up

וְֽתֹאכְלֵ֥ם

wə·ṯō·ḵə·lêm

and shall devour them

. אֵֽשׁ׃

’êš.

the fire .

פִּ֭רְיָמוֹ

pir·yā·mōw

Their offspring

､ מֵאֶ֣רֶץ

mê·’e·reṣ

from the earth ､

תְּאַבֵּ֑ד

tə·’ab·bêḏ;

You shall destroy

וְ֝זַרְעָ֗ם

wə·zar·‘ām,

and their descendants

מִבְּנֵ֥י

mib·bə·nê

from among the sons

. אָדָֽם׃

’ā·ḏām.

of men .

כִּי־

kî-

נָט֣וּ

nā·ṭū

עָלֶ֣יךָ

‘ā·le·ḵā

רָעָ֑ה

rā·‘āh;

חָֽשְׁב֥וּ

ḥā·šə·ḇū

､ מְ֝זִמָּ֗ה

mə·zim·māh,

a plot ､

בַּל־

bal-

not

. יוּכָֽלוּ׃

yū·ḵā·lū.

[which] they are able [to perform] .

כִּ֭י

kî

תְּשִׁיתֵ֣מוֹ

tə·šî·ṯê·mōw

You will make them turn

､ שֶׁ֑כֶם

še·ḵem;

בְּ֝מֵֽיתָרֶ֗יךָ

bə·mê·ṯā·re·ḵā,

תְּכוֹנֵ֥ן

tə·ḵō·w·nên

You will make ready [Your] arrows]

עַל־

‘al-

. פְּנֵיהֶֽם׃

pə·nê·hem.

､ ר֣וּמָה

rū·māh

Be exalted ､

､ יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

– בְּעֻזֶּ֑ךָ

ḇə·‘uz·ze·ḵā;

in Your own strength –

נָשִׁ֥ירָה

nā·šî·rāh

we will sing

וּֽ֝נְזַמְּרָה

ū·nə·zam·mə·rāh

. גְּבוּרָתֶֽךָ׃

gə·ḇū·rā·ṯe·ḵā.
