לַ֭מְנַצֵּחַ

אֵלִ֣י

My God

､ אֵ֭לִי

’ê·lî

My God ､

לָמָ֣ה

lā·māh

עֲזַבְתָּ֑נִי

‘ă·zaḇ·tā·nî;

have You forsaken Me

רָח֥וֹק

rā·ḥō·wq

[Why are You] so far

מִֽ֝ישׁוּעָתִ֗י

mî·šū·‘ā·ṯî,

from helping Me

דִּבְרֵ֥י

diḇ·rê

[And from] the words

؟ שַׁאֲגָתִֽי׃

ša·’ă·ḡā·ṯî.

of My groaning ؟

､ אֱ‍ֽלֹהַ֗י

’ĕlō·hay,

My God ､

אֶקְרָ֣א

’eq·rā

､ י֭וֹמָם

yō·w·mām

in the daytime ､

– וְלֹ֣א

wə·lō

but not –

תַעֲנֶ֑ה

ṯa·‘ă·neh;

､ וְ֝לַ֗יְלָה

wə·lay·lāh,

and in the night [season] ､

וְֽלֹא־

wə·lō-

and not

דֽוּמִיָּ֥ה

ḏū·mî·yāh

. לִֽי׃

lî.

to .

וְאַתָּ֥ה

wə·’at·tāh

But You [are]

､ קָד֑וֹשׁ

qā·ḏō·wōš;

holy ､

י֝וֹשֵׁ֗ב

yō·wō·šêḇ,

תְּהִלּ֥וֹת

tə·hil·lō·wṯ

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

בְּ֭ךָ

bə·ḵā

In You

בָּטְח֣וּ

bā·ṭə·ḥū

אֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ

’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū;

､ בָּ֝טְח֗וּ

bā·ṭə·ḥū,

they trusted ､

. וַֽתְּפַלְּטֵֽמוֹ׃

wat·tə·p̄al·lə·ṭê·mōw.

and You delivered them .

אֵלֶ֣יךָ

’ê·le·ḵā

To You

זָעֲק֣וּ

zā·‘ă·qū

– וְנִמְלָ֑טוּ

wə·nim·lā·ṭū;

and were delivered –

בְּךָ֖

bə·ḵā

in You

בָטְח֣וּ

ḇā·ṭə·ḥū

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

and not

. בֽוֹשׁוּ׃

ḇō·wō·šū.

וְאָנֹכִ֣י

wə·’ā·nō·ḵî

But I [am]

､ תוֹלַ֣עַת

ṯō·w·la·‘aṯ

a worm ､

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

and no

– אִ֑ישׁ

’îš;

man –

חֶרְפַּ֥ת

ḥer·paṯ

､ אָ֝דָ֗ם

’ā·ḏām,

of men ､

וּבְז֥וּי

ū·ḇə·zui

and despised by

. עָֽם׃

‘ām.

the people .

כָּל־

kāl-

רֹ֭אַי

rō·’ay

those who see Me

יַלְעִ֣גוּ

yal·‘i·ḡū

לִ֑י

lî;

Me

יַפְטִ֥ירוּ

yap̄·ṭî·rū

､ בְ֝שָׂפָ֗ה

ḇə·śā·p̄āh,

out the lip ､

יָנִ֥יעוּ

yā·nî·‘ū

they shake [saying]

､ רֹֽאשׁ׃

rōš.

the head ､

גֹּ֣ל

gōl

אֶל־

’el-

in

יְהוָ֣ה

Yah·weh

יְפַלְּטֵ֑הוּ

yə·p̄al·lə·ṭê·hū;

let Him rescue Him

יַ֝צִּילֵ֗הוּ

yaṣ·ṣî·lê·hū,

let Him deliver Him

כִּ֘י

kî

חָ֥פֵֽץ

ḥā·p̄êṣ

. בּֽוֹ׃

bōw.

in Him .

כִּֽי־

kî-

But

אַתָּ֣ה

’at·tāh

גֹחִ֣י

ḡō·ḥî

He who took Me

– מִבָּ֑טֶן

mib·bā·ṭen;

out of the womb –

מַ֝בְטִיחִ֗י

maḇ·ṭî·ḥî,

You made Me trust

עַל־

‘al-

[while] on

שְׁדֵ֥י

šə·ḏê

. אִמִּֽי׃

’im·mî.

of My mother .

עָ֭לֶיךָ

‘ā·le·ḵā

הָשְׁלַ֣כְתִּי

hā·šə·laḵ·tî

– מֵרָ֑חֶם

mê·rā·ḥem;

. מִבֶּ֥טֶן

mib·be·ṭen

אִ֝מִּ֗י

’im·mî,

Of My mother

אֵ֣לִי

’ê·lî

My God

. אָֽתָּה׃

’āt·tāh.

You [have been] .

אַל־

’al-

Not

תִּרְחַ֣ק

tir·ḥaq

Be far

מִ֭מֶּנִּי

mim·men·nî

כִּי־

kî-

צָרָ֣ה

ṣā·rāh

– קְרוֹבָ֑ה

qə·rō·w·ḇāh;

near –

כִּי־

kî-

אֵ֥ין

’ên

[there is] none

. עוֹזֵֽר׃

‘ō·w·zêr.

to help .

סְ֭בָבוּנִי

sə·ḇā·ḇū·nî

Have surrounded Me

פָּרִ֣ים

pā·rîm

רַבִּ֑ים

rab·bîm;

אַבִּירֵ֖י

’ab·bî·rê

בָשָׁ֣ן

ḇā·šān

. כִּתְּרֽוּנִי׃

kit·tə·rū·nî.

have encircled Me .

פָּצ֣וּ

pā·ṣū

עָלַ֣י

‘ā·lay

at Me

､ פִּיהֶ֑ם

pî·hem;

[with] their mouths ､

אַ֝רְיֵ֗ה

’ar·yêh,

טֹרֵ֥ף

ṭō·rêp̄

[Like] a raging

. וְשֹׁאֵֽג׃

wə·šō·’êḡ.

､ כַּמַּ֥יִם

kam·ma·yim

נִשְׁפַּכְתִּי֮

niš·paḵ·tî

I am poured out

– וְהִתְפָּֽרְד֗וּ

wə·hiṯ·pā·rə·ḏū,

and are out of joint –

כָּֽל־

kāl-

עַצְמ֫וֹתָ֥י

‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯāy

הָיָ֣ה

hā·yāh

is

לִ֭בִּי

lib·bî

– כַּדּוֹנָ֑ג

kad·dō·w·nāḡ;

נָ֝מֵ֗ס

nā·mês,

בְּת֣וֹךְ

bə·ṯō·wḵ

. מֵעָֽי׃

mê·‘āy.

Me .

יָ֘בֵ֤שׁ

yā·ḇêš

Is dried up

– כַּחֶ֨רֶשׂ ׀

ka·ḥe·reś

like a potsherd –

כֹּחִ֗י

kō·ḥî,

וּ֭לְשׁוֹנִי

ū·lə·šō·w·nî

and My tongue

מֻדְבָּ֣ק

muḏ·bāq

– מַלְקוֹחָ֑י

mal·qō·w·ḥāy;

to My jaws –

וְֽלַעֲפַר־

wə·la·‘ă·p̄ar-

and to the dust

מָ֥וֶת

mā·weṯ

. תִּשְׁפְּתֵֽנִי׃

tiš·pə·ṯê·nî.

You have brought Me .

כִּ֥י

kî

סְבָב֗וּנִי

sə·ḇā·ḇū·nî,

have surrounded Me

כְּלָ֫בִ֥ים

kə·lā·ḇîm

עֲדַ֣ת

‘ă·ḏaṯ

the congregation

מְ֭רֵעִים

mə·rê·‘îm

of the wicked

הִקִּיפ֑וּנִי

hiq·qî·p̄ū·nî;

has enclosed Me

כָּ֝אֲרִ֗י

kā·’ă·rî,

יָדַ֥י

yā·ḏay

. וְרַגְלָֽי׃

wə·raḡ·lāy.

and My feet .

אֲסַפֵּ֥ר

’ă·sap·pêr

כָּל־

kāl-

. עַצְמוֹתָ֑י

‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯāy;

My bones .

הֵ֥מָּה

hêm·māh

יַ֝בִּ֗יטוּ

yab·bî·ṭū,

יִרְאוּ־

yir·’ū-

[and] stare

. בִֽי׃

ḇî.

at Me .

יְחַלְּק֣וּ

yə·ḥal·lə·qū

בְגָדַ֣י

ḇə·ḡā·ḏay

לָהֶ֑ם

lā·hem;

וְעַל־

wə·‘al-

and for

לְ֝בוּשִׁ֗י

lə·ḇū·šî,

יַפִּ֥ילוּ

yap·pî·lū

. גוֹרָֽל׃

ḡō·w·rāl.

וְאַתָּ֣ה

wə·’at·tāh

But You

､ יְ֭הוָה

Yah·weh

אַל־

’al-

not

תִּרְחָ֑ק

tir·ḥāq;

do be far from Me

､ אֱ֝יָלוּתִ֗י

’ĕ·yā·lū·ṯî,

My Strength ､

לְעֶזְרָ֥תִי

lə·‘ez·rā·ṯî

to help Me

. חֽוּשָׁה׃

ḥū·šāh.

הַצִּ֣ילָה

haṣ·ṣî·lāh

– מֵחֶ֣רֶב

mê·ḥe·reḇ

from the sword –

נַפְשִׁ֑י

nap̄·šî;

Me

מִיַּד־

mî·yaḏ-

כֶּ֝֗לֶב

ke·leḇ,

of the dog

. יְחִידָתִֽי׃

yə·ḥî·ḏā·ṯî.

My precious [life] .

ה֭וֹשִׁיעֵנִי

hō·wō·šî·‘ê·nî

– מִפִּ֣י

mip·pî

from the mouth –

אַרְיֵ֑ה

’ar·yêh;

וּמִקַּרְנֵ֖י

ū·miq·qar·nê

and from the horns

רֵמִ֣ים

rê·mîm

of the wild oxen

. עֲנִיתָֽנִי׃

‘ă·nî·ṯā·nî.

You have answered Me .

אֲסַפְּרָ֣ה

’ă·sap·pə·rāh

I will declare

שִׁמְךָ֣

šim·ḵā

– לְאֶחָ֑י

lə·’e·ḥāy;

to My brothers –

בְּת֖וֹךְ

bə·ṯō·wḵ

in the midst

קָהָ֣ל

qā·hāl

of the assembly

. אֲהַלְלֶֽךָּ׃

’ă·hal·le·kā.

I will praise You .

יִרְאֵ֤י

yir·’ê

､ יְהוָ֨ה ׀

Yah·weh

הַֽלְל֗וּהוּ

hal·lū·hū,

כָּל־

kāl-

זֶ֣רַע

ze·ra‘

you descendants

､ יַעֲקֹ֣ב

ya·‘ă·qōḇ

of Jacob ､

כַּבְּד֑וּהוּ

kab·bə·ḏū·hū;

וְג֥וּרוּ

wə·ḡū·rū

and fear

מִ֝מֶּ֗נּוּ

mim·men·nū,

כָּל־

kāl-

זֶ֥רַע

ze·ra‘

. יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

yiś·rā·’êl.

כִּ֤י

kî

לֹֽא־

lō-

not

בָזָ֨ה

ḇā·zāh

He has despised

וְלֹ֪א

wə·lō

שִׁקַּ֡ץ

šiq·qaṣ

עֱנ֬וּת

‘ĕ·nūṯ

– עָנִ֗י

‘ā·nî,

of the afflicted –

וְלֹא־

wə·lō-

הִסְתִּ֣יר

his·tîr

פָּנָ֣יו

pā·nāw

מִמֶּ֑נּוּ

mim·men·nū;

וּֽבְשַׁוְּע֖וֹ

ū·ḇə·šaw·wə·‘ōw

but when He cried

אֵלָ֣יו

’ê·lāw

to Him

. שָׁמֵֽעַ׃

šā·mê·a‘.

He heard .

מֵ֥אִתְּךָ֗

mê·’it·tə·ḵā,

Of You

תְֽהִלָּ֫תִ֥י

ṯə·hil·lā·ṯî

My praise [shall be]

– בְּקָהָ֥ל

bə·qā·hāl

in the assembly –

רָ֑ב

rāḇ;

נְדָרַ֥י

nə·ḏā·ray

אֲ֝שַׁלֵּ֗ם

’ă·šal·lêm,

I will pay

נֶ֣גֶד

ne·ḡeḏ

. יְרֵאָֽיו׃

yə·rê·’āw.

those who fear Him .

יֹאכְל֬וּ

yō·ḵə·lū

עֲנָוִ֨ים ׀

‘ă·nā·wîm

the poor

– וְיִשְׂבָּ֗עוּ

wə·yiś·bā·‘ū,

and be satisfied –

יְהַֽלְל֣וּ

yə·hal·lū

יְ֭הוָה

Yah·weh

דֹּ֣רְשָׁ֑יו

dō·rə·šāw;

Those who seek Him

יְחִ֖י

yə·ḥî

לְבַבְכֶ֣ם

lə·ḇaḇ·ḵem

. לָעַֽד׃

lā·‘aḏ.

יִזְכְּר֤וּ ׀

yiz·kə·rū

וְיָשֻׁ֣בוּ

wə·yā·šu·ḇū

and turn

אֶל־

’el-

to

､ יְ֭הוָה

Yah·weh

כָּל־

kāl-

אַפְסֵי־

’ap̄·sê-

the ends [of]

אָ֑רֶץ

’ā·reṣ;

וְיִֽשְׁתַּחֲו֥וּ

wə·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū

and shall worship

לְ֝פָנֶ֗יךָ

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā,

כָּֽל־

kāl-

מִשְׁפְּח֥וֹת

miš·pə·ḥō·wṯ

. גּוֹיִֽם׃

gō·w·yim.

of the nations .

כִּ֣י

kî

– לַ֭יהוָה

Yah·weh

הַמְּלוּכָ֑ה

ham·mə·lū·ḵāh;

the kingdom [is]

וּ֝מֹשֵׁ֗ל

ū·mō·šêl,

and He rules

. בַּגּוֹיִֽם׃

bag·gō·w·yim.

over the nations .

אָכְל֬וּ

’ā·ḵə·lū

､ וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲוּ֨וּ ׀‪‬

way·yiš·ta·ḥăw·wū

and worship ､

כָּֽל־

kāl-

דִּשְׁנֵי־

diš·nê-

אֶ֗רֶץ

’e·reṣ,

לְפָנָ֣יו

lə·p̄ā·nāw

יִ֭כְרְעוּ

yiḵ·rə·‘ū

כָּל־

kāl-

יוֹרְדֵ֣י

yō·wr·ḏê

those who go down

עָפָ֑ר

‘ā·p̄ār;

to the dust

וְ֝נַפְשׁ֗וֹ

wə·nap̄·šōw,

and Even himself

לֹ֣א

lō

. חִיָּֽה׃

ḥî·yāh.

he who keep alive .

זֶ֥רַע

ze·ra‘

יַֽעַבְדֶ֑נּוּ

ya·‘aḇ·ḏen·nū;

shall serve Him

יְסֻפַּ֖ר

yə·sup·par

it will be recounted

לַֽאדֹנָ֣י

la·ḏō·nāy

of the Lord

. לַדּֽוֹר׃

lad·dō·wr.

to the [next] generation .

､ יָ֭בֹאוּ

yā·ḇō·’ū

They will come ､

וְיַגִּ֣ידוּ

wə·yag·gî·ḏū

צִדְקָת֑וֹ

ṣiḏ·qā·ṯōw;

His righteousness

לְעַ֥ם

lə·‘am

､ נ֝וֹלָ֗ד

nō·w·lāḏ,

who will be born ､

כִּ֣י

kî

. עָשָֽׂה׃

‘ā·śāh.

He has done [this] .
