Your Throne is Forever

מַעֲשַׂ֣י

– לְמֶ֑לֶךְ

concerning the King –

לְ֝שׁוֹנִ֗י

lə·šō·w·nî,

My tongue [is]

עֵ֤ט ׀

‘êṭ

the pen

סוֹפֵ֬ר

sō·w·p̄êr

. מָהִֽיר׃

mā·hîr.

יָפְיָפִ֡יתָ

yā·p̄ə·yā·p̄î·ṯā

מִבְּנֵ֬י

mib·bə·nê

– אָדָ֗ם

’ā·ḏām,

of men –

ה֣וּצַק

hū·ṣaq

חֵ֭ן

ḥên

– בְּשְׂפְתוֹתֶ֑יךָ

bə·śə·p̄ə·ṯō·w·ṯe·ḵā;

upon Your lips –

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֤ן

kên

בֵּֽרַכְךָ֖

bê·raḵ·ḵā

has blessed You

אֱלֹהִ֣ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

. לְעוֹלָֽם׃

lə·‘ō·w·lām.

חֲגֽוֹר־

ḥă·ḡō·wr-

חַרְבְּךָ֣

ḥar·bə·ḵā

עַל־

‘al-

､ יָרֵ֣ךְ

yā·rêḵ

[Your] thigh ､

､ גִּבּ֑וֹר

gib·bō·wr;

ה֝וֹדְךָ֗

hō·wḏ·ḵā,

with Your glory

. וַהֲדָרֶֽךָ׃

wa·hă·ḏā·re·ḵā.

and Your majesty .

וַהֲדָ֬רְךָ֨ ׀

wa·hă·ḏā·rə·ḵā

And in Your majesty

צְלַ֬ח

ṣə·laḥ

רְכַ֗ב

rə·ḵaḇ,

עַֽל־

‘al-

דְּבַר־

də·ḇar-

of

אֱ֭מֶת

’ĕ·meṯ

וְעַנְוָה־

wə·‘an·wāh-

– צֶ֑דֶק

ṣe·ḏeq;

[and] righteousness –

וְתוֹרְךָ֖

wə·ṯō·wr·ḵā

and shall teach You

נוֹרָא֣וֹת

nō·w·rā·’ō·wṯ

. יְמִינֶֽךָ׃

yə·mî·ne·ḵā.

Your right hand .

חִצֶּ֗יךָ

ḥiṣ·ṣe·ḵā,

Your arrows [are]

שְׁנ֫וּנִ֥ים

šə·nū·nîm

עַ֭מִּים

‘am·mîm

תַּחְתֶּ֣יךָ

taḥ·te·ḵā

יִפְּל֑וּ

yip·pə·lū;

בְּ֝לֵ֗ב

bə·lêḇ,

in the heart

– אוֹיְבֵ֥י

’ō·wy·ḇê

of enemies –

. הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

ham·me·leḵ.

of the King .

､ כִּסְאֲךָ֣

kis·’ă·ḵā

Your throne [is] ､

､ אֱ֭לֹהִים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

God ､

עוֹלָ֣ם

‘ō·w·lām

– וָעֶ֑ד

wā·‘eḏ;

and ever –

שֵׁ֥בֶט

šê·ḇeṭ

מִ֝ישֹׁ֗ר

mî·šōr,

of righteousness

שֵׁ֣בֶט

šê·ḇeṭ

[is] the scepter

. מַלְכוּתֶֽךָ׃

mal·ḵū·ṯe·ḵā.

of Your kingdom .

אָהַ֣בְתָּ

’ā·haḇ·tā

､ צֶּדֶק֮

ṣe·ḏeq

righteousness ､

וַתִּשְׂנָ֫א

wat·tiś·nā

and hate

– רֶ֥שַׁע

re·ša‘

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֤ן ׀

kên

מְשָׁחֲךָ֡

mə·šā·ḥă·ḵā

has anointed You

､ אֱלֹהִ֣ים

’ĕ·lō·hîm

God ､

､ אֱ֭לֹהֶיךָ

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā

שֶׁ֥מֶן

še·men

with the oil

שָׂשׂ֗וֹן

śā·śō·wn,

. מֵֽחֲבֵרֶֽיךָ׃

mê·ḥă·ḇê·re·ḵā.

more than Your companions .

､ מֹר־

mōr-

With myrrh ､

､ וַאֲהָל֣וֹת

wa·’ă·hā·lō·wṯ

and aloes ､

､ קְ֭צִיעוֹת

qə·ṣî·‘ō·wṯ

[and] cassia ､

כָּל־

kāl-

בִּגְדֹתֶ֑יךָ

biḡ·ḏō·ṯe·ḵā;

Your garments are [scented]

מִֽן־

min-

､ הֵ֥יכְלֵי

hê·ḵə·lê

of the palaces ､

שֵׁ֝֗ן

n

מִנִּ֥י

min·nî

. שִׂמְּחֽוּךָ׃

śim·mə·ḥū·ḵā.

they have made You glad .

בְּנ֣וֹת

bə·nō·wṯ

Daughters [are]

מְ֭לָכִים

mə·lā·ḵîm

בְּיִקְּרוֹתֶ֑יךָ

bə·yiq·qə·rō·w·ṯe·ḵā;

among Your honorable women

נִצְּבָ֥ה

niṣ·ṣə·ḇāh

שֵׁגַ֥ל

šê·ḡal

לִֽ֝ימִינְךָ֗

lî·mî·nə·ḵā,

at Your right hand

בְּכֶ֣תֶם

bə·ḵe·ṯem

. אוֹפִֽיר׃

’ō·w·p̄îr.

､ שִׁמְעִי־

šim·‘î-

､ בַ֣ת

ḇaṯ

､ וּ֭רְאִי

ū·rə·’î

and Consider ､

וְהַטִּ֣י

wə·haṭ·ṭî

– אָזְנֵ֑ךְ

’ā·zə·nêḵ;

וְשִׁכְחִ֥י

wə·šiḵ·ḥî

､ עַ֝מֵּ֗ךְ

‘am·mêḵ,

your own people ､

– וּבֵ֥ית

ū·ḇêṯ

and house –

. אָבִֽיךְ׃

’ā·ḇîḵ.

of your father .

וְיִתְאָ֣ו

wə·yiṯ·’āw

So will greatly desire

הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ

ham·me·leḵ

the King

. יָפְיֵ֑ךְ

yā·p̄ə·yêḵ;

כִּי־

kî-

ה֥וּא

hū

He [is]

– אֲ֝דֹנַ֗יִךְ

’ă·ḏō·na·yiḵ,

וְהִשְׁתַּֽחֲוִי־

wə·hiš·ta·ḥă·wî-

. לֽוֹ׃

lōw.

וּבַֽת־

ū·ḇaṯ-

And the daughter

צֹ֨ר ׀

ṣōr

– בְּ֭מִנְחָה

bə·min·ḥāh

[will come] with a gift –

. פָּנַ֥יִךְ

pā·na·yiḵ

יְחַלּ֗וּ

yə·ḥal·lū,

Will seek

עֲשִׁ֣ירֵי

‘ă·šî·rê

. עָֽם׃

‘ām.

the people .

כָּל־

kāl-

כְּבוּדָּ֣ה

kə·ḇū·dāh

בַת־

ḇaṯ-

מֶ֣לֶךְ

me·leḵ

– פְּנִ֑ימָה

pə·nî·māh;

within [the palace] –

מִֽמִּשְׁבְּצ֖וֹת

mim·miš·bə·ṣō·wṯ

woven with

זָהָ֣ב

zā·hāḇ

. לְבוּשָֽׁהּ׃

lə·ḇū·šāh.

Her clothing [is] .

– לִרְקָמוֹת֮

lir·qā·mō·wṯ

In robes of many colors –

תּוּבַ֪ל

tū·ḇal

she shall be brought

לַ֫מֶּ֥לֶךְ

lam·me·leḵ

to the King

בְּתוּל֣וֹת

bə·ṯū·lō·wṯ

אַ֭חֲרֶיהָ

’a·ḥă·re·hā

רֵעוֹתֶ֑יהָ

rê·‘ō·w·ṯe·hā;

מ֖וּבָא֣וֹת

mū·ḇā·’ō·wṯ

shall be brought

. לָֽךְ׃

lāḵ.

to You .

– תּ֭וּבַלְנָה

tū·ḇal·nāh

They shall be brought –

בִּשְׂמָחֹ֣ת

biś·mā·ḥōṯ

וָגִ֑יל

wā·ḡîl;

תְּ֝בֹאֶ֗ינָה

tə·ḇō·’e·nāh,

they shall enter

בְּהֵ֣יכַל

bə·hê·ḵal

. מֶֽלֶךְ׃

me·leḵ.

of King .

תַּ֣חַת

ta·ḥaṯ

אֲ֭בֹתֶיךָ

’ă·ḇō·ṯe·ḵā

of Your fathers

יִהְי֣וּ

yih·yū

､ בָנֶ֑יךָ

ḇā·ne·ḵā;

תְּשִׁיתֵ֥מוֹ

tə·šî·ṯê·mōw

Whom You shall make

לְ֝שָׂרִ֗ים

lə·śā·rîm,

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

in all

. הָאָֽרֶץ׃

hā·’ā·reṣ.

the earth .

אַזְכִּ֣ירָה

’az·kî·rāh

I will make to be remembered

שִׁ֭מְךָ

mə·ḵā

בְּכָל־

bə·ḵāl

in all

דֹּ֣ר

dōr

– וָדֹ֑ר

wā·ḏōr;

and generations –

עַל־

‘al-

כֵּ֥ן

kên

עַמִּ֥ים

‘am·mîm

יְ֝הוֹדֻ֗ךָ

yə·hō·w·ḏu·ḵā,

shall praise You

לְעֹלָ֥ם

lə·‘ō·lām

. וָעֶֽד׃

wā·‘eḏ.

and ever .
