'Our Shield' in the Bible
Some time later, a message came from the LORD to Abram in a vision. "Stop being afraid, Abram," he said. "I myself your shield am your very great reward."
How blessed are you, Israel! Who can be like you, a people delivered by the LORD, your shield of help and your finely crafted sword. May your enemies cower before you. You will tread down their high places."
We wait on the LORD; he is our help and our shield.
Don't kill them! Otherwise, my people may forget. By your power make them stumble around; bring them down low, Lord, our Shield.
God, look at our shield, and show favor to your anointed,
Indeed, our shield belongs to the LORD, and our king to the Holy One of Israel.
With his feathers he will cover you, under his wings you will find safety. His truth is your shield and armor.
