'Sour Grapes' in the Bible
All the days of his separation you will not eat from anything that is made from the grapevine, from sour grapes to the skin [of grapes].
He shall wrong - like a vine - his sour grapes, and shall cast off - as an olive-tree - his blossom.
For before the harvest, when the season of budding is over, and sour grapes ripen into mature grapes, he cuts off the shoots with pruning knives, clearing away the spreading branches as he lops them off.
In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge.
But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grapes, his teeth shall be set on edge.
