'Speaking Openly' in the Bible

And he was speaking openly [about] the subject, and Peter took him aside [and] began to rebuke him.

However, no one was speaking openly about him for fear of the Jews.

Look, He is speaking publicly, and they say nothing to Him! Is it possible that the rulers really know that this is the Christ?
