And His disciples were asking Him, what this parable might be.

And it came to pass soon afterwards, that He was passing through by city and village, preaching and proclaiming the good news of the Kingdom of God; and the twelve were with Him;

And they sailed down into the country of the Gerasenes, which is over against Galilee.

Now it came to pass on one of the days, that both He and His disciples entered into a boat; and He said to them, "Let us go over to the other side of the lake." And they set forth.

and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary who is called Magdalene, from whom seven demons had gone out,

Now this is the parable: The seed is the word of God.

And, when a large multitude was coming together, and those from city after city were coming to Him, He spake through a parable:

for nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; nor hidden, that shall not be known, and become manifest.

And it was reported to Him, "Thy mother and Thy brothers have been standing without, wishing to see Thee."

And another fell into the good ground; and, growing, it produced fruit, a hundredfold." Saying these things, He was crying aloud, "He that hath ears to hear, let him hear."

And, when He went forth on the land, there met Him a certain man out of the city, who had demons, and for a long time he had worn no clothing; and he abode not in a house, but in the tombs.

And, seeing Jesus, he, crying out, fell down before Him, and, with a loud voice, said, "What is there to me and to Thee, Jesus, Son of God Most High? I beg of Thee, do not torment me!"

And He, answering, said to them, "My mother and My brothers are these who hear the word of God, and do it."

And, coming near, they awoke Him, saying, "Master, Master, we perish!" And, having arisen, He rebuked the wind and the raging of the water; and they ceased, and it became calm.

And another fell upon the rock; and, springing up, it was withered because of not having moisture.

But, as they were sailing, He fell asleep. And there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were being filled full of water, and were in peril.

And another fell amid the thorns; and the thorns growing with it choked it.

For He was commanding the unclean spirit to come out from the man; for many times had it seized him, and he was bound with chains and fetters, kept under guard; and, bursting the bonds, he was driven by the demon into the deserts.

And they were entreating Him, that He would not command them to go away into the abyss.

And He said to them, "Where is your faith?" And, struck with fear, they marvelled, saying one to another, "Who, then, is This, that He commandeth even the winds and the water, and they obey Him!"

And Jesus asked him, "What is your name?" And he said, "Legion," (because many demons entered into him).

And, as Jesus returned, the multitude welcomed Him; for they were all expecting Him.

"And no one, having lighted a lamp, covers it with a vessel, or puts it under a bed; but puts it on a lamp-stand, that those coming in may see the light;

And He said, "To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the Kingdom of God; but to the rest in parables; that, seeing, they may not see, and, hearing, they may not understand.

Now there came to Him His mother and brothers; and they could not get to Him because of the multitude.

and Joanna wife of Chuzas Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, who were ministering to them of their substance.

"And that in the good ground, these are such as, in a good and honest heart, having heard the word, hold it fast, and bear fruit with patience.

"And those on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root; who, for a season, believe, and in time of temptation fall away.

"And that which fell among the thorns, these are those who heard; and, going forth, they are choked with anxieties, and riches, and pleasures of life, and bear no fruit to perfection.

Take heed, therefore, how ye hear; for whosoever has, to him shall be given; and whosoever has not, even what he seems to have shall be taken from him."

"The sower went forth to sow his seed. And in his sowing some fell by the wayside; and it was trodden down, and the birds of the heaven devoured it.

And a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who could not be cured,

And those by the wayside are those who heard; then the Devil comes, and takes away the word from their heart; lest, having believed, they should be saved.

And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace."

And, behold, there came a man whose name was Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue; and, falling down near Jesus' feet, he was beseeching Him to come into his house;

While He is yet speaking, there comes one from the ruler of the synagogue, saying, "Your daughter has died; trouble not the Teacher."

because he had an only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she was dying! But, as He was going away, the multitudes were thronging.

And the whole multitude of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked Him to depart from them; because they were being constrained by great fear. And He, entering into a boat, returned.

And there was there a herd of many swine in the mountains; and they besought Him that He would permit them to enter into them. And He permitted them.

And they went out to see what had taken place; and they came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons went out, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and having his right mind; and they were afraid.

And, coming into the house, He permitted no one to enter with Him, except Peter, and James, and John, and the father of the maiden, and her mother.

But Jesus, hearing it, answered him, "Fear not; only believe; and she shall be made whole!"

"Return to your house, and relate how great things God did for you." And he departed, publishing through all the city how great things Jesus did for him.

And the man, from whom the demons had gone forth, was begging Him that he might be with Him; but He sent him away, saying,

And those feeding them, seeing what had taken place, fled, and carried the tidings into the city and into the country.

And Jesus said, "Who is it that touched Me?" And, when all were denying, Peter said, "Master, the multitudes are thronging Thee, and hard pressing Thee!"

And they were all weeping, and bewailing her; but He said, "Weep not; for she did not die, but is sleeping."

But Jesus said, "Some one touched Me; for I perceived that power had gone out from Me."

coming up behind, touched the border of His garment, and immediately her flow of blood stopped.

But He, taking her by the hand, called, saying, "Maiden, arise."

And those who saw it reported to them how the demon-possessed man was delivered.

And the woman, seeing that she was not concealed, came trembling; and, falling down before Him, reported before all the people for what cause she touched Him, and how she was instantly healed.

And her spirit returned to her, and she rose up instantly; and He commanded that something should be given to her to eat.

And the demons, going out from the man, entered into the swine, and the herd rushed down the steep into the lake, and were drowned.

And her parents were astonished. But He charged them to tell no one what had taken place.

And they were deriding Him, knowing that she died.
