And the king said, Peace to the young man, to Absalom? And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king's servant, and your servant, I saw a great uproar, but I did not know what it was.

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars. And on the earth will be anxiety of nations with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men fainting from fear, and expecting those things which have come on the earth. For the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

And hearing these things, they troubled the crowd and the city judge.

Then indeed others cried out, some other things; for the assembly was confused, and most of them did not know why they had come together.

Let them be clothed with shame and dishonor together, those who magnify themselves over me.

Let them be ashamed and humbled together, those who seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame, those who wish me evil.

Swallow up, O Jehovah, and divide their tongues; for I have seen violence and fighting in the city.

Let them be ashamed and turned pale, those who seek after my soul; let them be turned backward and blush, those who desire my hurt.

I will send My fear before you, and will destroy all the people to whom you shall come. And I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

And Jehovah your God shall deliver them to you, and shall destroy them with a mighty ruin until they are destroyed.

My tongue also shall muse on Your righteousness all the day long; for those who seek my evil have turned pale, they are brought to shame.

Jehovah shall send on you cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that you set your hand to do, until you are destroyed, and until you perish quickly, because of the wickedness of your doings by which you have forsaken Me.

Jehovah shall strike you with madness and blindness, and astonishment of heart.

And in those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in, but great tumult was on all the people of the lands. And nation was beaten by nation, and city by city, for God troubled them with every distress.

But the wicked are like the troubled sea, which cannot rest, and its waters cast up mire and dirt. There is no peace, says my God, to the wicked.

And Herod the tetrarch heard of all the things happening by Him. And he was perplexed, because it was said by some that John had risen from the dead; and by some, that Elijah had appeared; and by others, that one of the old prophets had risen again. And Herod said, John I have beheaded, but who is this of whom I hear such things? And he desired to see Him.

At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus and said to his servants, This is John the Baptist. He has risen from the dead, and therefore the powerful works are working in him.

And king Herod heard of Him (for His name had become well-known,) and he said that John the Baptist had been raised from the dead, and therefore mighty works operate in him. Others said that it was Elijah. And others said that he is a prophet, or as one of the prophets. But hearing Herod said, It is John, whom I beheaded. He has risen from the dead!

Nicodemus said to Him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter the second time into his mother's womb and be born?

And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, What does this mean?

(But their thoughts were blinded; for until the present the same veil remains on the reading of the old covenant, not taken away.) But this veil has been done away in Christ.

But the men marveled, saying, What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

And they feared exceedingly and said to one another, What kind of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?

And He said to them, Where is your faith? And being afraid, they marveled, saying to one another, Who then is this One? For He commands even the winds and water, and they obey Him!

Therefore take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to feed the church of God which He has purchased with His own blood. For I know this, that after my departure grievous wolves shall enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also men shall arise from your own selves, speaking perverse things in order to draw disciples away after them.

But the servant of the Lord must not strive, but to be gentle to all, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those who oppose, if perhaps God will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth,

preach the Word, be instant in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long-suffering and doctrine. For a time will be when they will not endure sound doctrine, but they will heap up teachers to themselves according to their own lusts, tickling the ear.

Yield to those leading you, and be submissive, for they watch for your souls, as those who must give account, that they may do it with joy and not with grief; for that is unprofitable for you.

How sweet are Your Words to my taste! More than honey to my mouth! Through Your Commandments I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way. NUN: Your Word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path.

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, even those who because of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

And He said to them, O fools and slow of heart to believe all things that the prophets spoke!

Then His disciples said to one another, What is this that He says to us, A little while and you will not see Me, and again a little and you will see Me? And, Because I go to the Father? Behold, these are the ungodly, who are at ease in the world; they increase in riches. Surely I have made my heart pure in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. For all the day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning.

However, when He, the Spirit of Truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth. For He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He hears, He shall speak. And He will announce to you things to come.

But as it is written, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard," nor has it entered into the heart of man, "the things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed them to us by His Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.
