Mark 10:46-52 - A Blind Man Healed At Jericho

Mark 10:46-52

46 They arrived at Jericho. He left there with his disciples and a large crowd. A blind beggar named Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the side of the road. 47 When he heard that it was Jesus the Nazarene, he cried: Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me! 48 Many rebuked him that he should keep quiet. However he cried out even more: You son of David have mercy on me.

49 Jesus stood still and said: You call him. They called the blind man saying to him, Be of good cheer: rise, he calls you. 50 Setting aside his garment, he sprang up, and came to Jesus.

51 Jesus responded to him: What do you want me to do for you? The blind man said to him: Teacher I want to receive my sight!

52 Jesus told him: Go your way; your faith has made you whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed him in the way.

Luke 18:35-43

35 He came closer to Jericho where a blind man sat begging by the side or the road. 36 Hearing a crowd go by, he inquired what this meant. 37 They told him: Jesus of Nazareth passed by.

38 He cried out: Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me! 39 They rebuked him and said he should keep quiet. But he cried out even more: You son of David, have mercy on me!

40 Jesus commanded that he be brought to him. When he was near he spoke to him. 41 What do you want me to do to you? He said: Lord, give me my sight!

42 And Jesus said to him: Receive your sight! Your faith has made you whole. 43 Immediately he received his sight, and followed him, glorifying God. All the people who saw it praised God.
