Mark 12:41-44 - A Poor Widow's Offering

Mark 12:41-44

41 And he sat over against the treasury, and was beholding how the people cast money into the treasury. And many that were rich were casting in much. 42 And a certain poor widow came and threw in two mites, which make a farthing. 43 And he called to him his disciples, and said to them, Truly do I say to you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than all those who are casting into the treasury. 44 For they all threw in of their abundance; but she out of her penury threw in all that she had, her whole living.

Luke 21:1-4

1 And he looked up and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury. 2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites. 3 And he said, In truth I say to you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all. 4 For all these out of their abundance cast in to the offerings; but she out of her penury cast in all the living that she had.
