John 8:1-11 - A Woman Caught In Adultery
but Jesus went to the mount of Olives.
And early in the morning he came again to the temple, and all the people were coming to him. And he sat down and taught them.
And the scribes and the Pharisees bring to him a woman taken in adultery; and having set her in the midst, 4 they say to him, Teacher, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such persons; what then dost thou say? 6 But this they said to try him, that they might be able to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground. 7 But when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up, and said to them, Let him that is without sin among you first cast a stone at her.
And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And when they heard this, they went out one by one, beginning with the oldest; and Jesus was left alone, and the woman who was in the midst. 10 And Jesus lifted himself up and said to her, Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn thee!
And she said, No one, Lord. And Jesus said, neither do I condemn thee; go, and sin no more.
