Matthew 16:5-12 - Beware The Leaven Of The Pharisees And Sadducees

⁵ His disciples having come to the other side forgot to take bread.

⁶ And Jesus said to them; See and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees.

⁷ And they were reasoning among themselves, saying, That it is because we did not take bread.

⁸ And Jesus knowing said to them, Why do you reason among yourselves, O ye of little faith, because you did not take bread? ⁹ Do you not yet understand? do you not remember the five loaves of the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up? ¹⁰ Nor the seven loaves of the four thousand, and how many baskets you took up? ¹¹ How do you not understand that I did not speak to you concerning bread, to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. ¹² Then they understood that He did not say to beware of the leaven of the (bread) of the Pharisees and Sadducees, but of the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
