Matthew 10:26-33 - Fear God Rather Than People

²⁶ Do not, therefore, be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed which will not be revealed, nor anything hidden which will not become known. ²⁷ What I tell you in the dark, say again in the light; and what is whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. ²⁸ And do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but are unable to kill the soul; rather be afraid of him who is able to destroy both soul and body in the Pit. ²⁹ Are not two sparrows sold for a half-penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's knowledge. ³⁰ While as for you, the very hairs of your head are numbered. ³¹ Do not, therefore, be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.

³² Every one, therefore, who shall acknowledge me before his fellow men, I, too, will acknowledge before my Father who is in Heaven; ³³ But, if any one disowns me before his fellow men, I, too, will disown him before my Father who is in Heaven.

⁴ To you who are my friends I say, Do not be afraid of those who kill the body, but after that can do no more. ⁵ I will show you of whom you should be afraid. Be afraid of him who, after killing you, has the power to fling you into the Pit. Yes, I say, be afraid of him. ⁶ Are not five sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them has escaped God's notice. ⁷ No, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be afraid; you are of more value than many sparrows.
