Proverbs 18:9-Proverbs 19:12 - How To Avoid Fools And Foolishness

9 He also that is slack in his work is brother to him that is a destroyer.

10 The name of LORD is a strong tower. A righteous man runs into it, and is safe.

11 The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as a high wall in his own imagination.

12 Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, and before honor [is] humility.

13 He who gives answer before he hears, it is folly and shame to him.

14 The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity, but a broken spirit who can bear?

15 The heart of a prudent man gets knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.

16 A man's gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.

17 He who pleads his case first [seems] just, but his neighbor comes and searches him out.

18 The lot causes contentions to cease, and decides between the mighty.

19 A brother offended [is harder to be won] than a strong city, and [such] contentions are like the bars of a castle.

20 A man's belly shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth. With the increase of his lips he shall be satisfied.

21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit of it.

22 He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from LORD.

23 A poor man uses entreaties, but a rich man answers roughly.

24 He who makes many friends [does it] to his own destruction, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

1 Better is a poor man who walks in his integrity than he who is perverse in his lips and is a fool.

2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge is not good. And he who hastens with his feet sins.

3 The foolishness of a man subverts his way, and his heart rages against LORD.

4 Wealth adds many friends, but a poor man is separated from his friend.

5 A FALSE witness shall not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall not escape.

6 Many will entreat the favor of a generous man, and every man is a friend to him who gives gifts.

7 All the brothers of a poor man hate him, how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues [with] words, [but] they are gone.

8 He who gets wisdom loves his own soul. He who keeps understanding shall find good.

9 A FALSE witness shall not be unpunished, and he who utters lies shall perish.

10 Luxurious living is not fitting for a fool, much less for a servant to have rule over rulers.

11 The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

12 The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion, but his favor is as dew upon the grass.
