John 7:25-36 - Is Jesus The Christ?

Some, therefore, of those of Jerusalem said, "Is not This He Whom they are seeking to kill? 26 And, behold, He is speaking openly, and they say nothing to Him! Did the rulers ever truly know that This is the Christ? 27 But as to This Man we know whence He is; but, when the Christ cometh, no one knows whence He is."

Jesus, therefore, cried in the temple, teaching and saying, "Ye both know Me, and know whence I am; and I have not come of Myself; but He Who sent Me is true, Whom ye know not. 29 I know Him; because I am from Him, and He sent Me."

They were seeking, therefore, to seize Him; and no one laid his hand upon Him, because His hour had not yet come. 31 But of the multitude many believed on Him, and said, "When the Christ shall come, will He do more signs than those which This Man did?"

The Pharisees heard the multitude murmuring these things concerning Him; and the high priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize Him.

Jesus, therefore, said, "Yet a little while am I with you, and I go to Him Who sent Me. 34 Ye will seek Me, and will not find Me; and, where I am, ye cannot come."

The Jews, therefore, said among themselves, "Where is This Man about to go, that we shall not find Him? Is He about to go to the Dispersion among the Greeks, and teach the Greeks? 36 What is this word that He said, 'Ye will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, ye cannot come?'"
