John 12:27-36 - Jesus Predicts His Death

John 12:27-36

27 Now My soul has become troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save Me from this hour. But for this cause came I to this hour. 28 Father, glorify Thy Name!" There came, therefore, a voice out of Heaven, "I both glorified it, and will glorify it again."

29 The multitude, therefore, who stood by and heard it, said that it had thundered; others said, "An angel has spoken to Him."

30 Jesus answered and said, "This voice has not come for My sake, but for your sakes. 31 Now is the judgment of this world: now will the Prince of this world be cast out; 32 and I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to Myself." 33 But this He said, signifying by what manner of death He was about to die.

34 The multitude, therefore, answered Him, "We have heard out of the law that the Christ abideth forever; and how sayest Thou that the Son of Man must be lifted up? Who is This Son of Man?"

35 Jesus, therefore, said to them, "Yet a little while is the Light among you. Walk while ye have the Light, lest darkness overtake you; and he that walks in the darkness knows not where he is going. 36 While ye have the Light, believe on the Light, that ye may become sons of Light" These things spake Jesus, and, going away, He was hidden from them.

John 8:21-30

21 He said, therefore, again to them, "I go away, and ye will seek Me, and will die in your sins. Whither I go, ye cannot come."

22 The Jews, therefore, said, "Will He kill Himself?" because He said, "Whither I go, ye cannot come."

23 And He said to them, "Ye are from beneath; I am from above. Ye are of this world; I am not of this world. 24 I said, therefore, to you, that ye will die in your sins; for, unless ye believe that I am He, ye will die in your sins."

25 They said, therefore, to Him, "Who art Thou?" Jesus said to them, "Even that which I am saying to you from the beginning. 26 I have many things to speak and to judge concerning you. But He Who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world."

27 They perceived not that He was speaking to them of the Father. 28 Jesus, therefore, said, "When ye lift up the Son of Man, then will ye know that I am He; and, of Myself, I do nothing, but, as the Father taught Me, I speak these things. 29 And He Who sent Me is with Me. He hath not left Me alone; because I am always doing the things that please Him."

30 As He spake these things, many believed on Him.
