Luke 24:44-49 - Jesus Commissions His Disciples

⁴⁴ And he said to them, These the words which I spake to you, being yet with you, for all things must be completed, written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning me. ⁴⁵ Then opened he their understanding, to understand the writings, ⁴⁶ And he said to them, That so has it been written, and so was it necessary for Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: ⁴⁷ And repentance and remission of sins to be proclaimed in his name to all nations, having begun from Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ And ye are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ And, behold, I send the solemn promise of my Father upon you: and do ye sit in the city of Jerusalem, till ye be clothed with power from on high.
