Luke 24:44-49 - Jesus Commissions His Disciples

⁴⁴ And he said to them, These are my words which I spoke to you while I was yet with you, that all things written in the law of Moses, and Prophets, and Psalms, concerning me, must be fully accomplished. ⁴⁵ Then he opened their understanding to understand the Scriptures, ⁴⁶ and said to them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day, ⁴⁷ and that a change of mind and forgiveness of sins should be preached in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. ⁴⁸ You are witnesses of these things. ⁴⁹ Behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you; but remain in the city till you are endued with power from on high.
