John 18:1-11 - Jesus Is Betrayed And Arrested
When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Kidron, where was a garden: into the which he entered with his disciples. 2 Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place, for Jesus oftentimes resorted thither with his disciples. 3 Judas then after he had received a bond of men, and ministers of the high priests, and of the Pharisees, came thither with lanterns, and firebrands, and weapons.
Then Jesus, knowing all things that should come on him, went forth and said unto them, "Whom seek ye?"
They answered him, "Jesus of Nazareth." Jesus said unto them, "I am he." Judas also which betrayed him, stood with them. 6 But as soon as he had said unto them, "I am he," they went backwards and fell to the ground.
And he asked them again, "Whom seek ye?" They said, "Jesus of Nazareth."
Jesus answered, "I said unto you, I am he. If ye seek me, let these go their way." 9 That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spake, "Of them which thou gavest me have I not lost one."
Simon Peter had a sword, and drew it, and smote the high priest's servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant's name was Malchus.
Then said Jesus unto Peter, "Put up thy sword into the sheath: shall I not drink of the cup which my father hath given me?"
