Matthew 16:21-23 - Jesus Predicts His Death And Resurrection

Matthew 16:21-23

21 It was then that Jesus Christ for the first time explained to his disciples that he had to go to Jerusalem and endure great suffering there at the hands of the elders, high priests, and scribes, and be killed, and be raised to life on the third day. 22 And Peter took him aside and began to reprove him for it, saying, "God bless you, Master! that can never happen to you!"

23 But he turned and said to Peter, "Get out of my sight, you Satan! You hinder me, for you do not side with God, but with men!"

Mark 8:31-33

31 Then he explained to them for the first time that the Son of Man must go through much suffering, and be refused by the elders and the high priests and the scribes, and be killed, and rise again three days after. 32 He told them this plainly. And Peter took him aside, and began to reprove him for it.

33 But turning and seeing his disciples he reproved Peter, and said, "Get out of my sight, you Satan! for you do not side with God, but with men."

Luke 9:21-22

21 But he warned them particularly not to tell this to anyone, 22 and said, "The Son of Man must endure great suffering and be refused by the elders, the high priests, and the scribes, and be killed, and be raised to life on the third day."
