John 13:21-30 - Jesus Predicts Judas' Betrayal

21 Having said these things, Jesus was troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, "Verily, verily, I say to you, that one of you will betray Me."

22 The disciples were looking one on another, doubting about whom He was speaking. 23 There was at the table reclining in Jesus' bosom one of His disciples, whom Jesus loved. 24 Simon Peter, therefore, beckons to this one, and says to him, "Tell us who it is about whom He is speaking." 25 He, leaning back as he was on the breast of Jesus, says to Him, "Lord, who is it?"

26 Jesus, therefore, answereth, "He it is for whom I shall dip the morsel, and give it to him." Having, therefore, dipped the morsel, He taketh and giveth it to Judas, son of Simon Iscariot. 27 And after the morsel, then Satan entered into him. Jesus, therefore, saith to him, "What you do, do quickly."

28 And no one of those reclining knew for what purpose He spake this to him; 29 for some thought, because Judas had the money-bag, that Jesus said to him, "Buy what we need for the feast," or that he should give something to the poor. 30 He, therefore, having received the morsel, went out straightway; and it was night.
