John 13:12-20 - The Meaning Of Footwashing

12 When, therefore, He washed their feet, and took His garments, and reclined again, He said to them, "Do ye know what I have done to you? 13 Ye call Me 'The Teacher,' and 'The Lord;' and ye say well; for so I am. 14 If, therefore, I, 'The Lord,' and 'The Teacher,' washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another's feet; 15 for I gave you an example, that, as I did to you, ye also should do.

16 Verily, verily, I say to you, a servant is not greater than his lord, nor one who is sent greater than he who sent him. 17 If ye know these things, happy are ye, if ye do them. 18 I speak not concerning all of you: I know whom I chose; but, that the Scripture may be fulfilled, 'He that eats My bread lifted up his heel against Me.'

19 From this time, I tell you before it comes to pass; that, when it comes to pass, ye may believe that I am He. 20 Verily, verily, I say to you, he who receives whomsoever I send receives Me; and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me."
