Matthew 26:31-35 - Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial

Matthew 26:31-35

31 Then said Jesus unto them, All you shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.

32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all men shall be offended because of you, yet will I never be offended.

34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this night, before the cock crows, you shall deny me three times.

35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with you, yet will I not deny you. Likewise also said all the disciples.

Mark 14:27-31

27 And Jesus said unto them, All you shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered.

28 But after that I am risen, I will go before you into Galilee.

29 But Peter said unto him, Although all shall be offended, yet will not I.

30 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto you, That this day, even in this night, before the cock crows twice, you shall deny me three times.

31 But he spoke the more vehemently, If I should die with you, I will not deny you by any means. Likewise also said they all.

Luke 22:31-34

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you have returned, strengthen your brethren.

33 And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.

34 And he said, I tell you, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day, before you shall three times deny that you know me.

John 13:31-38

31 Therefore, when he was gone out, Jesus said, Now is the Son of man glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God be glorified in him, God shall also glorify him in himself, and shall immediately glorify him.

33 Little children, yet a little while I am with you. You shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Where I go, you cannot come; so now I say to you.

34 A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.

36 Simon Peter said unto him, Lord, where do you go? Jesus answered him, Where I go, you cannot follow me now; but you shall follow me afterwards.

37 Peter said unto him, Lord, why cannot I follow you now? I will lay down my life for your sake.

38 Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for my sake? Verily, verily, I say unto you, The cock shall not crow, till you have denied me three times.
