Matthew 26:31-35 - Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial

Matthew 26:31-35

31 Then Jesus said to them, All of you will be offended because of Me this night. For it is written, "I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad."

32 But after I have risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.

33 Peter answered and said to Him, though all shall be offended because of You, I will never be offended.

34 Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you that this night, before the cock crows, you shall deny Me three times.

35 Peter said to Him, though I should die with You, yet I will not deny You. All the disciples also said the same.

Mark 14:27-31

27 And Jesus said to them, All of you will be offended because of Me this night. For it is written, "I will smite the Shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered."

28 But after I am raised, I will go before you into Galilee.

29 But Peter said to Him, Although all shall be offended, yet I will not.

30 And Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you that today, in this night, before the cock crows twice, you shall deny Me three times.

31 But he spoke the more fervently, If I should die with You, I will not deny You in any way. Also they all said likewise.

Luke 22:31-34

31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has desired you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not. And when you are converted, strengthen your brothers.

33 And he said to Him, Lord, I am ready to go with You, both into prison and into death.

34 And He said, I say to you, Peter, the cock shall not crow this day before you shall deny knowing Me three times.

John 13:31-38

31 Then when he had left, Jesus said, Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him. 32 If God is glorified in Him, God shall also glorify Him in Himself, and shall immediately glorify Him.

33 Little children, I am with you yet a little while. You shall seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, Where I go, you cannot come, so I now say to you.

34 I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. As I have loved you, you should also love one another. 35 By this all shall know that you are My disciples, if you have love toward one another.

36 Simon Peter said to Him, Lord, where do You go? Jesus answered him, Where I go you cannot now follow Me, but you shall follow Me afterward.

37 Peter said to Him, Lord, why cannot I follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.

38 Jesus answered him, Will you lay down your life for My sake? Truly, truly, I say to you, The cock shall not crow until you have denied Me three times.
