John 16:5-15 - Jesus' Departure And The Coming Of The Holy Spirit

⁵ but now I am going to him who sent me. And yet not one of you asks, 'Where are you going?' ⁶ No, your heart is full of sorrow at what I have told you. ⁷ Yet ??I am telling you the truth ??my going is for your good. If I do not depart, the Helper will not come to you; whereas if I go, I will send him to you. ⁸ And when he comes, he will convict the world, convincing men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment: ⁹ of sin, because they do not believe in me; ¹⁰ of righteousness, because I go to the Father and you see me no more; ¹¹ of judgment, because the Prince of this world has been judged.

¹² I have still much to say to you, but you cannot bear it just now. ¹³ However, when the Spirit of truth comes, he will lead you into all the truth; for he will not speak of his own accord, he will say whatever he is told, and he will disclose to you what is to come. ¹⁴ He will glorify me, for he will draw upon what is mine and disclose it to you. ¹⁵ All that the Father has is mine; that is why I say, 'he will draw upon what is mine and disclose it to you.'
