John 16:25-33 - Jesus' Victory Over The World

²⁵ These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs. The time will come when I shall no more speak to you in proverbs: but I shall show you plainly from my father. ²⁶ At that day shall ye ask in mine name. And I say not unto you that I will speak unto my father for you. ²⁷ For the father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. ²⁸ "I went out from the father, and came into the world: and I leave the world again, and go to the father."

²⁹ His disciples said unto him, "Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and thou usest no proverb. ³⁰ Now know we that thou understandest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee any question. Therefore believe we that thou camest from God."

³¹ Jesus answered them, "Now ye do believe. ³² Behold, the hour draweth nigh, and is already come, that ye shall be scattered every man his ways, and shall leave me alone. And yet am I not alone. For the father is with me. ³³ These words have I spoken unto you that in me ye might have peace. For in the world shall ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."
