Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

¹⁸ And it happened that while he was praying alone, the disciples were with him. And he asked them, saying, "Who do the crowds say [that] I am?"

¹⁹ And they answered [and] said, "John the Baptist, but others, Elijah, and others, that one of the ancient prophets has risen."

²⁰ And he said to them, "But who do you say [that] I am?" And Peter answered [and] said, "The Christ of God."

⁶⁶ For this [reason] many of his disciples {drew back} and were not walking with him any longer. ⁶⁷ So Jesus said to the twelve, "You do not want to go away also, [do you]?"

⁶⁸ Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words of eternal life. ⁶⁹ And we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God."

⁷⁰ Jesus replied to them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve, and one of you is the devil?" ⁷¹ (Now he was speaking about Judas [son] of Simon Iscariot, because this one--one of the twelve--was going to betray him.)
