Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession
Now it happened that while he was praying by himself his disciples were beside him. So he inquired of them, "Who do the crowds say I am?"
They replied, "John the Baptist, though some say Elijah and some say that one of the ancient prophets has arisen."
He said to them, "And who do you say I am?" Peter replied, "The Christ of God."
After that, many of his disciples drew back and would not associate with him any longer. 67 So Jesus said to the twelve, "You do not want to go, too?"
Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, who are we to go to? You have got words of eternal life, 69 and we believe, we are certain, that you are the holy One of God."
Jesus answered them, "Did I not choose you, the twelve? And yet one of you is a devil!" 71 (He meant Judas the son of Simon Iscariot; for Judas was to betray him ??and he was one of the twelve.)
