Luke 9:18-20 - Peter's Confession

¹⁸ And it came to pass, as He was praying in private, his disciples were with Him: and He asked them saying, Whom say the people that I am?

¹⁹ They answering said, John the baptist: but others say Elias: and others, that some ancient prophet is risen again.

²⁰ And He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Peter answered and said, The Christ the Son of God.

⁶⁶ From this time many of his disciples went away, and walked no more with Him. ⁶⁷ Jesus therefore said to the twelve, Have ye also a mind to go away?

⁶⁸ Then Simon Peter answered Him, Lord, to whom shall we go? ⁶⁹ Thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and know that thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living God.

⁷⁰ Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil? ⁷¹ Now He spake of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon; for he was about to betray Him, though he was one of the twelve apostles.
