Matthew 4:12-17 - Public Ministry In Galilee

¹² Now when Jesus heard that John had been arrested, he withdrew to Galilee; ??13 he left Nazaret and settled at Capharnahum beside the lake, in the territory of Zebulun and Naphtali ¹⁴ for the fulfilment of what had been said by the prophet Isaiah:

¹⁵ Land of Zebulun, land of Naphtali lying to the sea, across the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles! ¹⁶ The people who sat in darkness saw a great light, yea light dawned on those who sat in the land and the shadow of death.

¹⁷ From that day Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, the Reign of heaven is near."

¹⁴ After John had been arrested, Jesus went to Galilee preaching the gospel of God; ¹⁵ he said, "The time has now come, God's reign is near: repent and believe in the gospel."

¹⁴ Then Jesus came back in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and the news of him spread over all the surrounding country. ¹⁵ He taught in their synagogues and was glorified by all.
