Luke 24:50-53 - The Ascension

Luke 24:50-53

50 And he led them out as far as Bethany; and he lifted up his hands and blessed them. 51 And it came to pass, that as he blessed them, he was separated from them, and carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy; 53 and were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God.

Acts 1:6-11

6 Therefore, when they came together, they asked him, saying: Lord, wilt thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?

7 But he said to them: It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has reserved under his own control. 8 But you shall receive power, after the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses for me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and to the most distant part of the earth.

9 And when he had spoken these things, while they were looking on him, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out of their sight. 10 And while they were looking earnestly to ward heaven, as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white raiment, 11 who also said: Men of Galilee, why stand you gazing up into heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, shall come in the same manner in which you saw him go into heaven.
