Luke 24:50-53 - The Ascension

⁵⁰ And He led them out as far as to Bethany: and lifted up his hands and blessed them. ⁵¹ And while He was blessing them, He was parted from them, and was carried up into heaven. ⁵² And they worshipped Him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. ⁵³ And they were constantly in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

⁶ Being therefore come together they asked Him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?

⁷ And He said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or seasons, which the Father hath reserved in his own power. ⁸ But ye shall receive power from the holy Spirit coming upon you: and ye shall be my witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the uttermost part of the earth.

⁹ And having said these things, as they were looking upon Him, He was lifted up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight. ¹⁰ And while they were looking stedfastly toward heaven, as He went up, behold two men in white stood by them; ¹¹ who said, Ye men of Galilee, why do ye stand gazing up to heaven? This Jesus who is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in the manner ye have seen Him going into heaven.
