Matthew 3:13-17 - The Baptism Of Jesus

¹³ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan to John, to be baptized by him. ¹⁴ But John opposed him, saying, I have need to be baptized by thee, and dost thou come to me?

¹⁵ And Jesus answering said to him, Suffer it now; for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness. Then he suffered him.

¹⁶ And Jesus, as soon as he was baptized, went up from the water; and, lo! the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God, descending like a dove, coming upon him. ¹⁷ And lo! a voice from the heavens, saying, "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased."

⁹ And it came to pass that in those days Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. ¹⁰ And immediately on coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens parted, and the Spirit descending as a dove upon him. ¹¹ And there was a voice from the heavens, "Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased."

²¹ And it came to pass, when all the people had been baptized, and Jesus also had been baptized, and was praying, that the heaven was opened, ²² and the Holy Spirit descended upon him in a bodily shape as a dove; and a voice came from heaven: "Thou art my beloved Son; with thee I am well pleased."
