Matthew 4:12-17 - Public Ministry In Galilee

Matthew 4:12-17

12 Now when Jesus heard that John had been cast into prison, he withdrew into Galilee. 13 And leaving Nazara, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, on the shore of the lake, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali; 14 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

15 "The land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the lake beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, 16 the people that sat in darkness, saw a great light; and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, light arose."

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

Mark 1:14-15

14 But after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the glad tidings of God, 15 [saying,] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.

Luke 4:14-15

14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee; and there went out a report concerning him through all the surrounding country 15 And he taught in their synagogues, honored by all.
