Matthew 4:12-17 - Public Ministry In Galilee

¹² Now when Jesus heard that John had been cast into prison, he withdrew into Galilee. ¹³ And leaving Nazara, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, on the shore of the lake, in the borders of Zebulun and Naphtali; ¹⁴ that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying,

¹⁵ "The land of Zebulun, and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the lake beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles, ¹⁶ the people that sat in darkness, saw a great light; and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, light arose."

¹⁷ From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.

¹⁴ But after John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the glad tidings of God, ¹⁵ [saying,] The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the glad tidings.

¹⁴ And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee; and there went out a report concerning him through all the surrounding country ¹⁵ And he taught in their synagogues, honored by all.
