Matthew 3:13-17 - The Baptism Of Jesus

¹³ Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to the Jordan, to John, to be immersed by him; ¹⁴ but he was hindering Him, saying, "I have need to be immersed by Thee; and dost Thou come to me?"

¹⁵ But Jesus, answering, said to him, "Suffer it now; for thus it becomes us to fulfill all righteousness." Then He suffers Him.

¹⁶ And, having been immersed, Jesus went up straightway from the water; and, behold, the heavens were opened; and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, coming upon Him; ¹⁷ and, behold, a voice out of the heavens, saying, "This is My Son, the beloved, in whom I delighted."

⁹ And it came to pass in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was immersed by John into the Jordan. ¹⁰ And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens rent apart, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon Him. ¹¹ And a voice came out of Heaven, saying, "Thou art My Son, the beloved, in Whom I was well pleased."

²¹ Now it came to pass, when all the people were immersed, that as Jesus also was immersed, and was praying, Heaven was opened, ²² and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form, as a dove; and a voice came out of Heaven, "Thou art My Son, the Beloved, in Whom I delighted."
