John 13:12-20 - The Meaning Of Footwashing
12 When, therefore, he had washed their feet, and taken his clothes and sat down again, he said to them, Do you know what I have done to you? 13 You call me Teacher and Lord; and you say well, for I am. 14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. 15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done.
16 I tell you most truly, the servant is not greater than his lord, nor the apostle greater than he that sent him. 17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them. 18 I speak not of you all; I know whom I have chosen; but that the Scripture may be fulfilled, He that eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.
19 I tell you from this time, before it occurs, that when it occurs you may believe that I am [the Christ]. 20 I tell you most truly, He that receives one that I send receives me; and he that receives me receives him that sent me.
