John 14:1-14 - Jesus' Farewell Discourse

¹ Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God and believe in me. ² In my Father's house are many mansions; if there were not I would have told you. ³ For I go to prepare a place for you; and if I go and shall prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am you may also be. ⁴ And where I go, you know the way.

⁵ Thomas said to him, Lord, we know not where you go, and how do we know the way?

⁶ Jesus said to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except by me.

⁷ If you had known me you would have known my Father; and from this time you know him and have seen him.

⁸ Philip said to him, Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied.

⁹ Jesus said to him, Have I been so long a time with you and have you not known me, Philip? He that has seen me has seen the Father; and how say you, Show us the Father? ¹⁰ Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The words which I speak to you I speak not of myself, but the Father continuing in me, he does the works. ¹¹ Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me; but if not, believe on account of the works themselves.

¹² I tell you most truly, he that believes on me, the works that I do shall he do; and greater works than these shall he do, because I go to the Father; ¹³ and whatever you ask in my name I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. ¹⁴ If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
