Mark 3:13-19 - The Selection Of The Twelve Apostles
13 And he went up into the mountain, and called to himself those whom he wanted, and they went to him. 14 And he appointed twelve, designating them apostles, and that he might send them out to preach, 15 and to have authority to cast out demons.
16 And he appointed the Twelve. And to Simon he gave the name Peter; 17 and James the son of Zebedee; and John the brother of James (and he surnamed them Boanerges which means, Sons of Thunder); 18 and Andrew, and Philip, and Bartholomew, and Matthew, and Thomas, and James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus, and Simon the Zealot; 19 and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
12 It happened in these days, that he went out to the mountain to pray, and he continued all night in prayer to God. 13 When it was day, he called his disciples, and from them he chose twelve, whom he also named apostles:
14 Simon, whom he also named Peter, and Andrew his brother; James; John; Philip; Bartholomew; 15 Matthew; Thomas; James, the son of Alphaeus; Simon, who was called the Zealot; 16 Judas the son of James; and Judas Iscariot, who also became a traitor.
