Matthew 6:5-15 - The Sermon On The Mount: How To Pray

⁵ And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues, and in the corners of the streets, because they would be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. ⁶ But when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber, and shut thy door to thee, and pray to thy father which is in secret; and thy father which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. ⁷ "And when ye pray, babble not much, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard, for their much babbling's sake. ⁸ Be ye not like them therefore: for your father knoweth whereof ye have need, before ye ask of him.

⁹ After this manner, therefore, pray ye: O our father, which art in heaven hallowed be thy name. ¹⁰ Let thy kingdom come. Thy will be fulfilled, as well in earth, as it is in heaven. ¹¹ Give us this day our daily bread. ¹² And forgive us our trespasses, even as we forgive our trespassers. ¹³ Lead us not into temptation: but deliver us from evil, For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.

¹⁴ For and if ye shall forgive other men their trespasses, your heavenly father shall also forgive you. ¹⁵ But and if ye will not forgive men their trespasses, no more shall your father forgive your trespasses.
