Matthew 10:1-15 - The Twelve Commissioned And Sent Out
1 And when He had called to Him His twelve disciples, He gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease. 2 And the names of the twelve apostles are these: First, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee and John his brother; 3 Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax-collector; James the son of Alpheus, and Lebbeus, whose surname was Thaddeus; 4 Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed Him.
5 Jesus sent out these twelve, commanding them, saying, Do not go into the way of the nations, and do not enter into any city of the Samaritans. 6 But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, proclaim, saying, The kingdom of Heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. You have received freely, freely give. 9 Do not provide gold nor silver, nor copper in your purses, 10 nor a bag for the journey, nor two coats, nor sandals, nor staves. For the workman is worthy of his food.
11 And into whatever city or village you enter, inquire who within it is worthy. And there abide until you go away from there. 12 And when you come into a house, greet it. 13 And if the house is worthy, let your peace come on it. But if it is not worthy, let your peace return to you. 14 And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when you depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Truly I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
7 And He called the Twelve and began to send them out by two and two. And He gave them authority over unclean spirits, 8 and commanded them that they take nothing in the way, except only a staff; no bag, no bread, no copper in the belt, 9 but tying on sandals, and not to put on two tunics. 10 And He said to them, Wherever you enter into a house, abide there until you depart from that place. 11 And whoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when you depart from there, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Truly I say to you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.
12 And they went out and proclaimed that men should repent. 13 And they cast out many demons, and anointed many who were sick with oil, and healed them.
1 And He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases. 2 And He sent them to proclaim the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.
3 And He said to them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staffs, nor a bag, nor bread, nor money, nor each to have two tunics. 4 And whatever house you enter into, abide there and depart from there. 5 And whoever will not receive you, when you go out of that city shake off the very dust from your feet for a testimony against them. 6 And they departed and went through the towns, proclaiming the gospel and healing everywhere.
