Matthew 24:36-44 - The Unknown Day And Hour

³⁶ But about that day or hour not a single one knows -- not even the angels in heaven or the Son; not a single one but the Father alone. ³⁷ For just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. ³⁸ For just as in the days before the Flood people went on eating and drinking, marrying and being married, until the very day Noah entered the ark, ³⁹ and knew nothing about it until the Flood came and swept them all away, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. ⁴⁰ Two men will be in the field; one will be taken, one will be left. ⁴¹ Two women will be grinding with the handmill; one will be taken, one will be left. ⁴² So keep on watching, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming. ⁴³ But be sure of this, that if the master of the house had known in exactly what part of the night the thief would come, he would have been on guard and would not have let his house be broken into. ⁴⁴ So you, too, must continue to be ready, for at an hour you are not expecting Him the Son of Man will come.

³² But about that day or hour not a single one knows -- not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son; not a single one but the Father. ³³ Keep looking, keep alert, for you do not know when the time will be. ³⁴ It will be like a man who leaves his home and goes on a journey, after he has given orders to his slaves, to each his particular task, and has given orders to the watchman to keep watch. ³⁵ So you must keep alert, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming -- in the evening or at midnight or at daybreak or early in the morning -- ³⁶ so that he may not come unexpectedly and find you asleep. ³⁷ And so what I say to you, I say to everybody, keep alert."
